    Font Replacer in 2016

Greetings everyone, those who are familiar with my other posts here will know that I was a big fan of the fact that Squeezeboxes can do other languages- and I have a large portion of my music library with Japanese, Chinese and Korean characters.

For the longest time I had this red squeezebox radio and it was GREAT because I had installed this program called font replacer years ago and it was going strong ever since. Well flashforward to a few weeks ago, that radio had a small electrical fire which burnt out it's battery and upon resetting the unit -boom- font replacer is gone and it's back to the hell of infinite meaningless squares!

I've tried all the advice and problem solving steps I could manage to find when it comes to getting this to work again:
    1) go to settings->Advanced->Applet installer and make sure 'recommended applets only' is unchecked
    NOPE, GONE
    2) add the font replacer repository to my plugins through LMS
    BAD PLUGIN ERROR
    3) Add an extension for my install of arch that will let Perl get stuff from HTTPS sources like github (it was pretty obvious that the googlecode repo that Slimdevices wiki still relies upon is DEAD)
No error this time... but still no results!

So, um... How do I do this? If I can't do this then how can I SSH or whatever into the SBRs and replace their font files manually?

    Thanks!

Maybe a dumb question (apologies!), but die you add Erland's repository
    Code:
    http://erland.github.io/squeezebox-downloads/repositories/latest.xml
    under LMS-Setttings-Plugins?

And another question: which firmware runs on that redio?

I think there was a temporary issue with Ben's repository (it has
happened in the past...). Please try again later today.

Oh hey it showed up under the Applet Installer! Amazing!

Thanks for your input, you can clean up this thread if you'd like~ Glad it was only a temporary issue

Just got a notification that the link for the extension was back. Check
again in a few hours. It should then be back on your device.

    Problem in 2017

For some reason Font Replacer is no longer working on one of my players, a Touch. From the menu on the device I select reinstall, but the download seems to happen too fast, and then when the device restarts there is no option on the Home menu to activate Font Replacer. Is the app still available? Do I need to do a factory reset first? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You should probably try to get in touch with Ben, the add-on's author:
