    3rd Party Shoutcast-Plugin

    Hi,
i have made an shoutcast-plugin that is independent from a mysqueezebox.com-login.
Actual this is only for testing purpose without a detailed installation guide.

you can find the source at https://github.com/oweitman/LMS-shoutcast

    1) download the source
    2) check on the information-page in the LMS-settings for your plugin-folders
    3) in the plugin-folder create a new directory named "NewShoutcast"
    4) copy the downloaded source in this directory
    5) restart LMS

    any response are welcome

    3rd Party Shoutcast-Plugin

Nice! It's always good to see some work being done to make the SB
    eco-system less dependent on mysb.com :-)

Just one nit-picky detail (I haven't tested the code, tbh): return a
reference to the %GENRES hash, rather than the hash itself. Otherwise
you'll copy it every time this is called.

    thank you for your tip.
i didnt practice perl for 10 years. this is in many languages complicated to understand the right notation.

Unfortunately this plugin doesn't work anymore because the www.shoutcast.com URL's have been changed and perhaps the content as well.

    Any chance for an update?

Same here. Download link does not exist apparantly:

    [19-04-14 13:31:59.2243] Slim::Utils::PluginDownloader::_downloadError (217) unable to download NewShoutcast from
    https://github.com/oweitman/LMS-shou...ast-0.20.1.zip
    - 404 Not Found

The "alternative 2" installation works fine for me.

Thanks. I tried your suggestion but I get "plugin failed to load" even after restarting LMS

Are you saying you downloaded the source from github and placed it in the correct folder and it still did not install?

I am using Linux Mint. After I downloaded it and placed in the NewShoutcast folder it didn't work. I then tried changing ownership/permissions to emaulate the other plugins in the cache/Installedplugins/plugins folder and no luck. I then took the upper level of the folder which appeared wrong (had make file install file etc) out and just had the next level down (see pic). It appeared to be installed at that point as "PLUGIN_NEWSHOUTCAST (v0.20.1) PLUGIN_NEWSHOUTCAST (v0.20.1)
    PLUGIN_NEWSHOUTCAST_DESC"

but I can't find it as NewShoutcast under the menu

I seemed to have borked the install of the plugin

I think I will wait till the developer fixes the repository. I have deleted the plugin from the cache folder
