    Announce: SendToSqueezebox Android app

    Hi Folks,

I've thrown together an Android app which allows you to share from the Youtube app, or, indeed any http/https/rtsp URL to a squeezebox server. It requires the Youtube plugin to be installed on the server. It's not well tested at this point, and doesn't have much error handling, but works in my setup at home. Source is available at https://github.com/askvictor/SendToSqueezebox and on the Play store at https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...queezebox_paid

Feel free to add feature bug reports and feature requests to the github repo (or fork and make your own changes)

Nice, not getting any action though? Installed on my nexus 7 with apk, entered my server address and port.
In YouTube app share video to Sendtosqueezebox app. Message No players found. Have I missed anything? Thanks

Hmm; do you have a password set on your server (I haven't implemented that)? Do you have the Command Line Interface enabled on the server (actually, I'm not certain that you can disable this at all)? Is the port of that (default 9090) the same as the port you set in the app?

Thanks, I stumbled on this a bit cold , anyhow . I'm running LMS on synology Ds214

I updated to LMS 7.9.0 and added the YouTube plugin from triode and Phillips. (The LMS update is available from pinkdot)

Next got an yputude api public server key from Google developers site and entered the key into LMS, settings, YouTube

Your pluging works great . Many thanks

I've published 'for real' on the Play store. There is a small fee for the app (to try to recoup the developer licence cost and time spent), but feel free to compile from source.

100 promo codes for this app

    Hi Folks,

There are 100 free promo codes for this available here:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

If you take one, please delete it from the spreadsheet (each can only be used once).

If you have any problems with the app, I'd appreciate if you didn't leave a negative review, but rather let me know of the problems via this forum, or via https://github.com/askvictor/SendToSqueezebox/issues

    Cheers,

Preliminary support for sharing from Google Music

I've added prelim support for sharing from Google Music. A single song can be shared from the Google Music app to squeezebox, provided that you've got the Google Music plugin working on your Squeezebox. The plugin doesn't seem to deal with album, artist or radio URLs, so you can't share those from your Android at this point, but I'm looking into if it will be possible.

    Thanks!

askvictor - really nice app. Really easy to use. Thanks for sharing it. I have a couple of feature requests which you can completely ignore if you'd like!
    1. Ability to send a playlist URL. At the moment, I can only send individual videos, but I'd love to be able to send whole playlists.
    2. Ability to append video to the existing playlist instead of overwrite the existing playlist. This way I can build up a playlist using your app.

Thanks again, and as I say feel free to ignore these requests. They are just a couple of things I would love to be able to do with the app.
    Keep up the good work!

I'd like these features too, but there are some limitations with the YouTube plugin itself; I'll look into it when i have a chance though
