    SiriusXM content alternatives

The looming demise of this service on squeezeboxes has me looking for content alternatives. Here are the things I listen to regularly on Sirius:

The Blend - mix of pop hits with a nice balance of contemporary and not-yet-oldies hits
NPR Now - mostly for Car Talk and similar shows
    40s on 4 - just what it says...music from the 1940s

Any suggestions for alternative sources of comparable programming?

Many of the npr now shows are also available via podcasts. Google name of show combined with podcast and rss. You'll find the url for the RSS feed. Then add this to the podcast app at mysb.com. Then the latest podcasts will show up automatically. In some cases you are one day behind, but for many of these shows that doesn't matter.

    The Loft
    Met Opera Radio
    Symphony Hall

the only one that's truly irreplaceable is The Met, but i will miss The Loft as well, particularly Mike Marronne.

    High quality stream options

    Some of my faves are:

    https://calmradio.com/home

    http://www.jazzradio.com

    http://www.radiotunes.com

    http://www.rockradio.com

The last three are all from the same group, and once you've joined one you get them all. ALL STREAMS are avail at 128kAAC and 256k or better MP3, and they all have great phone/pad apps for use in your car.
