The solution was posted in Github:

HEOS devices need the following setting in upnpbridge.xml:

    <forced_mimetypes>audio/flac,audio/mp3,audio/aac</forced_mimetypes>

    Hi!

I am having issues to get the plugin to work with my Denon AVR.

    My server:
    • Raspberry PI 3b on Raspbian Buster
    • LMS 8.1.0
    • UPNP Bridge 1.45.0

    My Player: Denon AVR S750H

The player is able to receive UPnP/DLNA streams, I have tested this with Bubble UPnP on my Android Phone and with Windows Media Player on my Win 10 device. I can start / stop playback, control the volume over UPnP and the devices automatically switches on, as soon as I start playback.

    My Issue:
In LMS / UPnP Bridge the player is also detected and shown under as a player. It seems like the connection basically works, because the volume changes in LMS are instantly synced to the AVR. Unfortunately the playback does not work. When I press the "play" button, LMS shows "playing" for 1s and then stops it. On the AVR itself nothing happens.

    What I tried so far:
I already applied the "Denon" profile for the player and restarted the pugin. I also tried the "_safe_mode" profile and played and some manual configurations. But nothing got the player to work.

    My Logs:

The stream itself works flawlessly on my Squeezelite Player and another UPnP player in my network. I also tried streaming with Spotty, which shows the same errors.

Any idea what I can do? Someone has already opened a similar issue on github, where I also posted some information, but I think here is a better place to discuss and get help in the first instance. I really hope someone is able to help me, because I already spent hours on trying around and nothing improved.

    Thank you in advance.

I just set up a new music server (HP microserver running Ubuntu server), new LMS, but now I cannot get this plugin to work... it installed, it reports itself as running, the prefs file is there (see below), but it fails to create a configuration file. tried refreshing the page, tried by clicking generate, I even tried waiting a few minutes.

there should be 2 UPnP players, my Oppo and a Volumio player, both of which are recognised from my windows pc, so they are active (and both did work on my old music server)

anybody an idea what I'm doing wrong?

Preferred Sonos S2 settings now they support 24/48

Now that Sonos S2 officially supports 24/48 flac files, am I correct in thinking that we don't need to use the "16 bits always" setting for the 24 Bits PCM setting?

If so, should I be using the Packed Type 1 or Plain 24 Bits setting? Playing a 24/192 file seems to work perfectly with the UPnPBridge defaults (Max Sample Rate 48000, Packed Type 1 with Normal header) but just checking that this is the recommended setting?

I just picked up a very old Philips Fidelio AD7000W/10 (UPnP and Airplay).

It is not a device with a UPnPBridge known profile - and it is a bit hit and miss at the moment so I am fiddling with settings.

Right now it is playing but I get about 2 minutes and then a long pause and I see this in the plugin log

Does that give any clues about settings I should set or avoid?

Update ... luckily someone has archived a 2012 firmware update (mine came with one from 2011) ... and it seems to have improved things.
I think the issue was not holding on to the Wi-fi connection very well.
It does it better now (can ping reliably but before there were timeouts).
Am now running AirPlay to it to see how well that runs.

there should be 2 UPnP players, my Oppo and a Volumio player, both of which are recognised from my windows pc, so they are active (and both did work on my old music server)

anybody an idea what I'm doing wrong?

If you have the same from both plugins, it's usually either a firewall issue or you're not binding to the right interface. If you are in a docker container, per post #1 of this thread, you must be in host mode

thanks for pointing me in the right direction (quoting the page 1 post here for easier reference)
my LMS runs on an Ubuntu server which i only recently set-up, I did not have the time to properly look at SSL or the firewall

The Bridge installs a web server on a random port from 49152 (can be configured), up to 32 ports, so your firewall must allow that. If everything seems to work but you have no sound, you propably have these ports blocked so the UPnP/DLNA player cannot get the audio. In Windows, add a rule authorizing squeeze2upnp-win.exe or go into C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\P lugins\UPnPBridge and launch *once* squeezeupnp-win.exe where you'll be prompted for authorization.

This plugin *requires* SSL to stream HTTPS directly so make sure it's installed on your LMS server. Not a problem for Windows, OSX, most Linux x86, Raspberry pi, Cubie, Odroid and others that use a Debian-based, but can be problematic with some NAS. I don't have a perfect guide, so please refer to your NAS forum, but most of the recent NAS firmware update include SSL as well, so that might be all that is required.

Other than that, Perl must have SSL support enabled, which again is available in all recent distribution and LMS versions (I think). But in case of problem and for Debian-ish Linux, you can try "sudo apt-get install libio-socket-ssl-perl libnet-ssleay-perl" at any command prompt. ...

Tracks not advancing in mixed format queue

I wonder if I can be given any assistance into an issue I am experiencing.

I use lms-to-upnp to bridge Roon with my Naim NDS. It's been working well for 2 years.

However have identified an issue with mixed format playlists.

If I have a playlist which has a 24/192 track and the next track is say 24/96 when the track finishes it does not advance on to the next track. I can go the other way so 24/96 to 24/192 is OK.

24/192 tracks seem to be the only issue. i.e. if I have a 24/96 track I can advance to a 16/44 track OK.

I can work around this in one of 2 ways.

    1. If I set stream_length to -2 the track will advance. However the last 10 seconds of the track doesn't play, i.e. it advances 10 seconds too early. This happens for all tracks regardless of format so isn't really workable.

    2. If I set FLAC compression in Roon to on then I don't see this issue. I don't want to do this as Naim streamers perform best if they receive PCM/WAV and don't have to transcode. If I get lms-to-upnp to transcode FLAC to PCM that track advance issue is reintroduced.

One thing I have noticed is that 24/192 files show as being played as WAV if I check on the streamer whereas all other formats show as PCM. I wonder if it's the change from WAV to PCM that causes the issue?

I've tried many permutations of settings and cannot seem to get to the bottom of this so any help would be appreciated

Here's the Common section of the config file

    <common>

    <resample_options></resample_options>

    Lumin t2 and UPnPBridge

    Details:
    Using LMS 8.1.1
    With Daphile 21.01
    Lumin t2 Streamer

The LuminT2 is detected by the plug-in and playback is avalaible trough LMS but to no audio output.
The LuminT2 fluorescent display show the track-data-cursor.
We test the LuminT2 with their application and output is available.

In general must UpNP streamer works right away with the default settings.
    Not the LuminT2.
    Any suggestions are welcome
