    Upnpbridge with netgear EVA

Hi PasTim, thanks for the prompt replies..
I have a EVA9150 that has been collecting dust for many years, it didn't even cross my mind until now, that it maybe able to be controlled by the LMS/Upnpnbridge..
My post was to try and find out from this forum whether or not it is even theoretically possible before I spend any time setting it up again.
If you think it is possible I will get it out and search here for the Upnpbridge installation and setup instructions..
    cheers CD

If it supports UPnP it may well work - the manual at https://www.downloads.netgear.com/fi...UM_27MAR09.pdf says it does. I'm afraid you can't be sure it will work until you try it.
    LMS 7.9.2 on PC, Xubuntu 18.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. 2 Touchs & EDO.
LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (A308CR amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers.
Also Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers.
Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones.
Wireless Xubuntu 18.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver.

Another way to think about it is ... if it worked would I want to use it?
For example - from memory does is sound better than something that you already have?
Do you have a gap in your listening locations that you want to fill?

If yes to either then it is probably worth experimenting - especially when you are likely to get some help from some people here.

Otherwise ... you could sell it or give it away.

It can happen if LMS is started before the system got assigned its address
Phillip thanks for your reply but I cant get it to work even after restarting the plugin.
It seems to me that the UPNP client are binding in a 169.* IP.

    perfect it works again!!! thanks!
I know it was a self assigned IP but I though UPNP needs it for some sort of weird network binding. stupid me

    Configuration file missing

I wanted to upgrade the Fedora machine on which LMS was running and in order to avoid the usual perl stuff, decided to use a docker image instead.
The installation went well and LMS is up and running (version 7.9.2 - 1572699180).
I then installed the UPnP/DLNA bridge (version 1.25.0) but it complains that the configuration file is missing even though I pressed the 'Generate' button on the settings page.

Upon inspection I found out the following:
-on the setup page of the plugin, the configuration file has prefix /config/prefs
-in reality the configuration file is stored in /config/prefs/plugin where all other plugin config files are stored as well.

When I look at the log is shows that when Squeeze2upnp is started, it is started as:

    Code:
    Starting Squeeze2upnp: /config/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/UPnPBridge/Bin/squeeze2upnp-x86-64-static -Z -I -b 172.17.0.2 -f /config/logs/upnpbridge.log -d all=debug -x /config/prefs/upnpbridge.xml
So it looks for the config file in the wrong directory...
I could make a link to the config file but I really would like to know what is going on instead...

On my ubuntu system, upnpbridge.prefs is indeed in the ../prefs/plugin directory, but upnpbridge.xml is in ../prefs/ . That's the way it works on my system.
    LMS 7.9.2 on PC, Xubuntu 18.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. 2 Touchs & EDO.
LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (A308CR amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers.
Also Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers.
Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones.
Wireless Xubuntu 18.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver.

At the end of the day, it does not matter, as long as the process has access to that repertory. The config file if generated by the binary helper, not by the LMS webUI and it is only generated if at least one player is found. So likely in your case and with your new configuration, you have NAT enabled and that prevents players from being discovered, or you have some network related issue

Well, first of all I had mixed up the prefs file and the xml file: no xml file was actually generated...

philippe_44's remark got me thinking: I run the docker in bridged mode...
On my test machine I now had to do the following:

    - Ran the docker in 'host' mode and tried to install the plugin. That failed because the plugin could not be downloaded. I tested if I could download the plugin manually from the host and that succeeded...
    - Switched the docker to 'bridge' mode and could download and install the plugin with LMS, but could not generate a config file as was the case on my real system.
    - Switched back to 'host' mode and generated a config file with 4 upnp devices detected. The xml file is located in /config/prefs.

I don't understand why I could not download the plugin in 'host' mode but in the end it apparently it works...
Tomorrow I will try this on my real system.

    Thank you!
