I don't seem to be able to ssh in there as root using "sudo /bin/sh".

    Still permission denied.

My terminal command usage is very rusty.

Ralphy, if I PM you the png would you mind including it in the list of VU meters?

Uploading it to this forum seems to change it to a jpg so maybe email might be needed.

    That didn't work either Michael.

I've PM'd Ralphy. Hate to bother him when he does so much for the community but I have tried.

And of course the same to you too.

Copy your VU meter file to /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets/JogglerSkin/images/UNOFFICIAL/VUMeter/vu_analog_25seq_w.png

    Backup your configuration

    Reboot

EDIT: The vu file might have to be in png format not jpg as the one you attached is.

You'll have to be more explicit if you want us to help you. "that didn't
work" just is not enough information to make any sense. What did you
try? How did it fail? Error messages you got?

I'm not in front of my pCP right now - but I think it still should be possible using the method described by Ralphy here: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...l=1#post835855

    So in short:
    First choose a VU-meter from pCP web-page.
    Backup

Then you need to install your own VU-meter by:

As root copy a 10000x453 VU meter png file of your choice to /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets/JogglerSkin/images/UNOFFICIAL/VUMeter/vu_analog_25seq_w.png

Save your config from the web gui or sudo filetool.sh -b

    Reboot

    Thanks for all your help.

Looks like I can take it from here.

I have to break for a while but I think I'll be able to do it from here.

    Thanks again.

Thanks again, the procedure worked fine and re-familiarised me with some basic terminal commands from years ago.

Very happy, sorry for being unspecific earlier.

    (Very) special characters in Jivelite

I just want to share how I managed to let jivelite show (all?) special characters as I experienced some issues with it.

I hope it might be helpful for others as well

I have a specific album of 'Sieg Řber die Sonne' which is called '1 ∞'. While all my squeezeboxes and the server website show the infinity character in the album title, jivelite would only show an empty character rectangle.

First, I thought it might have to do with the encoding of the file tags but retagging did not help. I finally came across below post which gave some clues...

After some more research I found that the FreeSansBold.ttf font that is used in Jivelite to display the album titles does not include all characters of the "Mathematical operations" unicode block, so also not the infinity sign.

Eventually on a free font site i found the DejaVu Sans family of TrueType fonts which include the infinity sign.

I ended up replacing the original fonts with DejaVuSans and DejaVuSansCondensed-Bold at boot time as described in below cited post. I changed the firebelli's script accordingly:

    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    cd /opt/jivelite/share/jive/fonts
    sudo rm FreeSans*.ttf
    sudo ln -sf /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional/DejaVuSans.ttf FreeSans.ttf
    sudo ln -sf /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional/DejaVuSansCondensed-Bold.ttf FreeSansBold.ttf
Edit: I found the OpenSans family of fonts looking even better...

    Cheers!

    1. Save your favorite font (mine is ipagp.ttf) at: /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional/

    2. Create a script and save it in the same directory as well (e.g. ReplaceFont.sh).
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    cd /opt/jivelite/share/jive/fonts
    sudo rm FreeSans.ttf
    sudo rm FreeSansBold.ttf
    sudo ln -s /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional/ipagp.ttf FreeSans.ttf
    sudo ln -s /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional/ipagp.ttf FreeSansBold.ttf
    3. Specify this script as user command in Tweaks menu of pCP.
    Code:
    /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional/ReplaceFont.sh
    4. Reboot pCP.

Sorry if this has been asked but is it possible to control Jivelite via IP or a browser?
My use case is I have a picoreplayer connected to a video distribution system located in a rack in the basement.
I currently have LMS integrated with Crestron IP control using an old Controlworks module but thereĺs no OSD.
IR control is a possibility but it would take some effort to get a cable to this location.
Thanks for any advice or direction.
