Wondered if it might be a power issue. I have the whole lot powered with a Raspberry Pi adapter and gpio connections. Could this be an issue?

    What's the power supply's specs? I'm running my Pi2 & 7" display & wifi
dongle from an iPad charger (5.1V/2.1A). Depending on the cable used I'd
get the under-voltage warning (a yellow bolt top right on the
display)... using a 2.5V charger does work fine.

Make sure you don't have avoid_warnings in your config.txt (see eg.
    https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/v...ic.php?t=82373).

No lightning bolt so must be OK. Perhaps the IOS of the controlling IPad Air? Going to sleep. Seems to need a push sometimes.

    Michael,

Is there any chance that the "Repeat" and "Shuffle" Icons can be added to you "Large artwork" now playing screen savers ?

Or some simple indication that they are on would be enough so when I accidentally touch a button on my remote I do not have to go back through the menus in order to turn them off.

Maybe just a two Dots (one for Shuffle one for repeat) somewhere so we can see that either is on in some form ?

Not high priority at all but a "nice to have"

    Thanks

    Jeff

Edit: Maybe "--" for song "=" for playlist/album and blank for off to kep it simple/small ?

You can select what buttons to see in the Settings.

Hmm... good idea. I'll try to figure something out.

The Touch skin would show the current state as you hit those buttons on
the remote. So the code clearly is there. I only have to figure out how
    to make this happen.

Might be a little trickier than I thought: the IR integration with
jivelite seems not to be recognized as IR input. Most likely it's using
keyboard shortcuts to map IR coded to commands. Therefore from
    JiveLite's POV it's a keyboard command - which wouldn't trigger that
popup. We could probably change that, as there might be far more people
using IR using keyboard mapping, than users really hooking up a keyboard
    to the computer.

Oh thats a pity I thought that it might be simple.

The particular system next to my bed actually uses a FLIRC to do the IR (so keyboard emulation) but on my other systems I use an IR receiver and lircd.

I mostly use the joggler skin with your Large Artwork now playing display.

It would be nice but if its too complex I can do without it, as I said just a "Nice to have"

    Thanks for looking though !

I must admit I've never used IR on Pis. I actually hardly ever use IR
except for the Harmony setup on my TV...

So am I assuming right that FLIRC is being integrated by using keyboard
    emulation? What about lircd?

    >So am I assuming right that FLIRC is being integrated by using keyboard

Yes the FLIRC is basically a USB Keyboard and is seen as one.

    Code:
    hid-generic 0003:20A0:0001.0001: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.01 Keyboard [flirc.tv flirc] on usb-3f980000.usb-1.3/input0
According to some earlier posts by Ralphy "Using the --uinput option with lircd makes the ir remote appear as a keyboard to jivelite."

lircd is running with the --uinput
    Code:
    ps aux | grep lirc
    934 root /usr/local/sbin/lircd --device=/dev/lirc0 --log=/var/log/pcp_lirc.log --uinput
So I would think that the answer is that both Flirc and lircd inputs are seen as keyboard inputs

    Jeff

Edit:Just to be clear the code examples are from two different systems one with Flirc one with lircd !

It's a rather easy change. But we'll have to see whether it's really what we want. Currently the code would only show that popup when the command was sent through IR. But in jivelite there's no "native" IR. IMHO all integration is done using keyboard shortcuts. Therefore we might want to note rely on IR input only, but extend this to keyboard. So here's how you can try this yourself - if you feel like tinkering on the command line. I understand you are running jivelite on the Joggler? Can you ssh into it? You'd then have to find the jive/slim/Player.lua file and edit it to apply the following change:

    Code:
    diff --git a/share/jive/jive/slim/Player.lua b/share/jive/jive/slim/Player.lua
    index 07cf54e..40ea35d 100644
