When jivelite is comming up again after a reboot, I can found two players with the same name in jivelite. The chosen one is the player who was connected wired and he can't find the lms. I have to switch to the other player with the same name and voilÓ the music library is now available. May be you have this problem to.

Before the reset, this worked perfectly.

So in short: We're not there yet . Any ideas?
Please look at my post above (number #797) may be this is the reason.

OK, I tried a lot and have found it's definitely got something to do with running the LMS on a Synology NAS.
I tried fresh installs on a pi1, pi3 and piZero, wireless and wired, but I got the same result every time. The player worked (squeezelite=OK), but no players found in JiveLite. Then I installed pCp and LMS on a pi3 and immediately all the other pi's found the LMS and showed it in JiveLite also.

Why this is, is still a mystery to me, but at least I narrowed it down to the Synology. For now I will be using the pi3 as LMS.

Thank you for your help and suggestions, I really enjoy pCp and JiveLite!

    Regards,
    Bart

Jivelite schould also work with a Synology NAS. I have LMS running on a Synology DS-116 with DSM 6.1.5 OS. I have installed LMS 7.9.1-166 beta over the package-manager. LMS is running on port 9002.
I have two players with waveshare display and jivelite working and they have no problems finding the music library with the Synology standard settings. The NAS HDD is spinning down after one hour an that is also no problem for the players.

Hmm, OK, that doesn't make it more logical to me.

    I'm running a DS212j with DSM 6.1.5-15254 and LMS 7.9.1.166 on port 9002.

Do you know if I can enable a log file or so to find the bottleneck?

You said squeezelite is ok, so you have just to look where is the problem with jivelite.
In this post you can find a solution how to get jivelite logs.

    Jivelite Hangs

    Hi

I'm running pCP 3.22 with (as far as I can tell) the latest version of Jivelite.

I leave pCP powered on all the time and I've noticed that every now and again, probably less than once a month, that when I come to listen to some music the Jivelite interface is frozen.

Symptoms are that the infrared remote won't work, which I initially thought was the issue, however if I start the music from either the LMS web interface or OrangeSqueeze then music plays fine but the Jivelite screen doesn't get updated (stays on what ever was showing when I last used it) so I'm thinking that Jivelite has somehow frozen. Would this also stop infrared working?

I can fix the issue by either power cycling the rPi or doing a 'Reboot' from the pCP main web interface, but haven't found any other way of getting it back.

This isn't much of a problem to me. Occasional reboots are not much of an issue but just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is seeing it.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help debug the issue.

    Cheers

I've seen this issue as well, but have so far been unable to track down the cause.
We'll eventually figure out what's happening.
In the meantime you'll have to reboot when it happens.

You could try setting up a custom cron command on the tweaks tab to restart jivelite daily which may or may not help.

This will cause jivelite to exit and restart at 2am each day.

    Code:
    0 2 * * * /usr/bin/pkill -15 jivelite

Squeezebox client builds donations always appreciated.

Thanks Ralphy, I guess I could always do a full reboot using cron if your command doesn't work.

    Mike.
Yes it confirms my suspicion that the issue has always been there and it's not something that Triode or I have introduced and there are similiar reports in the forums about the touch.

I have a squeezeplay tcz package for pcp that does that same.

I'm pretty sure it's memory corruption and I've managed to capture a few error messages but not enough to help locate the issue.

    Code:
    applet.NowPlaying - NowPlajive: malloc.c:3096: sYSMALLOc: Assertion `(old_top == (((mbinptr) (((char *) &((av)->bins[((1) - 1) * 2])) - __builtin_offsetof (struct malloc_chunk, fd)))) && old_size == 0) || ((unsigned long) (old_size) >= (unsigned long)((((__builtin_offsetof (struct malloc_chunk, fd_nextsize))+((2 * (sizeof(size_t))) - 1)) & ~((2 * (sizeof(size_t))) - 1))) && ((old_top)->size & 0x1) && ((unsigned long)old_end & pagemask) == 0)' failed.
    Code:
    Jivelite(30041,0x700000429000) malloc: *** mach_vm_map(size=140607891988480) failed (error code=3)
    *** error: can't allocate region
    Code:
    *** Error in `jivelite': free(): invalid pointer: 0x7094f008 ***
    Aborted (core dumped)
Even a coredump doesn't help as I can't backtrace the embedded lua interpreter from gdb.
