Hmmm ok I gave it a whirl but my plugin list is coming up empty in LMS

    http://github.com/bossanova808/repos...aging/repo.xml

Not sure where to enable repo debugging either...any chance you could glance over with expert eyes??

    Thanks, if so!

The debug flag would probably be plugins.extensions. But it's working fine for me anyway:

Ah great, thought I had it right. Seems because I had it manually installed I had to uninstall, restart, and install from repo - now indeed all good.

    Thanks!

    Got it.

    /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins/XSqueezeDisplay/Plugin.pm (..etc)

    Nope.

Initially, it was missing JSON.pm, so I installed that (although I thought
it was already part of LMS).

After another restart, I get lots of messages in the log file like:

    Mar 31 11:14:51 sqpido bash[10624]: [15-03-31 11:14:50.2557]
    Slim::Utils::Strings::string (490) Error: missing string
    PLUGIN_XSQUEEZEDISPLAY

Apparently, it cannot find the correct strings.txt.

    > Now on your kodi machine, play a video. You should see the display

I noticed in the sqeezebox settings there's a new screen saver (a
blank line) available. When I select that one, I do get the KODI info on
    the display.

    Nice work!

I forgot to mention that all other XSqueezeDisplay strings (in the
plugins list, the settings screen) are untranslated, too.

Hmm, ok. I didn't have to install JSON on either of my test servers (LMS 7.8.something on Linux Mint and 7.7.5 on Windows I think) - so that's a bit wierd - maybe a distro thing? It's using system perl perhaps??

First, I'd probably remove the manual and use the repo link above....sorry, you were too quick and setting up a repo proed easier in the end than I thought (thanks @mherger!)

You'll only see the endpoint debug line if you set the debugging for XSqueezeDisplay to DBEUG rather than info...I now realise. Probably for the best since it will log the password (although why people would put a password on their media player I can never quite work out),

I'll have to think on the strings thing, seems odd. Again, both my servers seem ok with it.

I'm glad it is operating though, despite the issues!

(I only have English strings in there - I don't know what it does if your language is set to something else)

LMS will take the default -- English (EN).
But even when I change LMS language settings to English I do not get
    strings.

Will remove and try install from the repo, maybe this will make a
    difference.

    Thanks,

    I get:

    Bad repository
