There are tools available in the net and after converting you can properly maintain the tags for your files.

    Hi Gerhard and Guys,

Quick update to you. Indeed there is the meta data problem with dff files. I contacted SOtM engineer and we reintalled the logitech media server. Then dsf files are working properly while dff files not. I used foobar to delete previous tag information I added in the dff. Still couldn't work.

So I used dff2dsf developed by signalyst.com. Right now, all the dsd files are fine. It claims that dff2dsf only adds header info without converting to PCM. Is it really the case?

Thank you very much for your suggestions and help.

    Best,
    Jianan

It absolutely stays DSD which you notice when further processing. I used the same tool, no worries, no difference realized at all.

    Enjoy!

Still not able to play dsf file from the LMS based on a DS213+ to the SBT

    Hi all,
still I'm not able to play dsf files with my LMS based on a Synology DS213+.
The dsf files are regularly found and indexed by the LMS.
The DSDPlayer plugin in installed but when I go to LMS Player settings no settings are available on the DSDPlayer menu, only the phrase "DSDPlayer will transcode DSD to PCM for this player. Use the settings below to tune resampling parameters."
So when I send a dsf stream from the LMS to the SBT, on the player appears every time the message "Problem: Unable to play file type for: {omissis}".

I tried to install an LMS on my Windows 10 PC and all works well: DSDPlayer installed, DSDPlayer settings availables, SBT playing the same dsf file without any problem.

    Maybe someone can help me?

The DS213+ uses a FREESCALE QorIQ P1022 CPU (Dual Core, Package Arch Qoriq) and has a DSM6.x regularly updated (now 6.1.4-15217 Update 1).

You will probably need a custom compiled sox for this platform. Go to www.audiodigitale.eu, they explain how to do it. Other alternative is to get an RPi, install LMS on the Pi and use the NAS only for the storage of the files.

    Hi Guys,
I'm a bit lost since I reinstalled my LMS server yesterday, DSD files don't work anymore.
I did reinstall the DSDPlayer plugin and configure it for my player (picoreplayer)
I had done a reinstall recently also, still with the Synology package, and didn't have any issues
LMS is running on a Synology 415+
What's the latest on getting that to work?
Is the DSDPlayer in the plugin list the correct one or should I look for an alternate repo where another plugin is available?
That was the case in the past with pinkdot's repo...
I find so many old threads about this I'm confused as per what to do now!
    Syno 415+ with LMS 7.9 -> Picoreplayer 3.11 with Audio-GD I2S hdmi output -> PS Audio DirectStream -> Pass Labs XP20 -> Pass Labs XVR-1 -> 2 x Karan KA S 400 -> XTZ Divine 100.49 -> happiness

For me DSD playing requires the following settings:
    - volume set to 100%
    - replay gain correction set to off
    - Song info plugin installed

    Have you checked this ?

    Hi All,

can someone help me out with DSD?
I have an album added (dsf) in LMS 7.9.1. I have setup DSDPlayer to use Enable DSD-over-PCM. I have set the volume level at fixed 100%. The music plays on my Benchmark DAC2HGC (connected via spdif, edo enabled).
But I think that the files are converted to PCM as the front lights of the DAC show 24bit, 4x 44khz. For DSD both the 2x and 4x lights should be on. Am I doing anything wrong?

    Any help appreciated!

Cannot play DSF files in Native DSD mode

I am having a hard time setting up a LMS 7.9.1 server to play DSF files natively to a Brooklyin DAC+ using a SOtM sMS-200ultra player.
I set the DSD mode on the sMS-200ultra’s squeezelite config to “Native”, but when I play a DSF file the progress bar does not move and I see the following error in the log:

    Code:
    [18-04-06 18:14:39.3890] Slim::Player::Song::open (409) Error: Couldn't create command line for dsf playback for [file:////NAS1/music/Various%20Artists/Blue%20Coast%20Collection/Blue%20Coast%20Collection%20-%2001%20-%20Looking%20For%20A%20Home%20-%202.8MHz-DSF.dsf]
I did not install the DSDPlayer plugin (I thought that is only needed for DoP and I want to use the native transmission supported on the sMS-200ultra for the Brooklyn DAC+ with the latest firmware v0.4.17).

This is the DSF config In Advanced File Types:
    Code:
DSF (File Format) -> DSF (Stream Format) -> Native (Decoder)
What do I need to do to play DSF files in Native DSD mode?

    Thanks!
