So I looked in the /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/lib/Cache folder and there was no library.db file. Would this be somewhere else? also searched the entire /usr folder and it isn't there (unless I'm doing it wrong which is entirely possible)

Also, I saw that there is a new build so I downloaded that and am giving it a shot. Will update if that changes things.

Still failed from install of new build. Uploading logs

    server.log.zipscanner.log(1).zip.

Should I just uninstall, delete the whole squeezebox directory and try a fresh install with the new build? I don't think it has anything to do with the music folder or files themselves since LMS installed on a W10 box scanned the whole 750gbs worth of music.

Check Settings/Information. There's a list of the folders being used.

Ok, different approach. I just had another user with a largish library
report that the LMS scanner crashed on him when he had the Library Demo
plugin enabled. Could you please disable it and try again? And delete
the virtualLibraries.prefs from the prefs folder, too.

If that didn't help, then please disable the Fulltext Search plugin, and
    try again.

Before installing 7.9, did you have a different LMS installed on that box?

Yes. I had 6.8 but I don't think I had gotten a full scan of my library on the ReadyNas since .7. Will try your steps above.

    Update:
So there is no virtualLibraries.prefs in the /c/.squeezboxserver/pref folder or in any of the subdirectories under squeezeboxserver folder. Only server.prefs file. Should I delete that one?

SubLibrary Demo plugin was not enabled, and I have disabled Fulltext Search plugin and deleted the library.db file. Running scan again.

    Update2:
Scan failed again. It always fails around the same general track count. Uploading a screenshot and logs.

So I just deleted the whole folder on the ReadyNAS Pro and did a reinstall using the latest build. The scan didn't crash but it finished at 31,520 tracks... which is where it finishes when it was crashing. I also installed the latest builds on Win10 and Win7 box and both of them scanned all the way to 110,000+ tracks. The music folder is on the ReadyNas Pro and space isn't an issue as there are multiple TB of free space. I'm stumped and getting close to just running it off one of the windows boxes.

Oh, hold on... is this one of the rather old ReadyNAS devices? What CPU,
    how much memory?

Can you check what perl version it's running (Settings/Information in
the web UI)? Did you run an older version of LMS successfully?

There's been a long-standing issue that sometimes LMS on ReadyNAS would
quit working on certain files. And it's a problem with the Perl 5.8
    build only.

    http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17849#c45

I think one of the workarounds was to make sure that no other media type
than music was enabled in the music folder settings. Can you make sure
    this is the case?

    ReadyNas Pro Memory: 1024 MB [6-6-6-18 DDR2]
    E2160 1.8Ghz CPU (dual core)

    Perl Version: 5.8.8 - i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi
Do you know if the version of PERL is upgradable on these things?

I did have video checked but I have unchecked and am rescanning.

@mherger Thanks for the markup in the server and scanner logs. It gives a quick overview of warnings and errors.
