IIRC Michael removed it because of security reasons after his „Don’t expose your LMS to the internet“ call.
Hackers could do nasty things with all files which then where reachable through the plugin maybe even place new files there.

Not sure that was the reason.

Maybe someone who still has it installed can copy out the Gallery folder from plugins and PM me a link

Edit:
Funny story I didn't set up the server from scratch in years and the function to view pics in the folder is not even Picture Gallery but is part of the Music and artist information plugin, lol.
Sorry for the confusion!
People looking for the Gallery pllugin there is version 1.2.1 still on the server with the link a few posts back changed to 1.2.1.

That's a feature provided by the Music & Artist Information plugin, not
the Gallery. Please give it a try. And let me know if you still want to
have the Gallery. I can give you access to it.
