    Server stopping/random play quitting

My server keeps stopping. I have to remote into the box, kill the processes, and restart it. Sometimes I can get away with just restarting it from the control panel, but not always.

Is it possible I've crossed some threshold in terms of the library size? Another thing that's happening is that "random song" will just quit. The server will still be running, and I can restart from the player...but it won't just run forever anymore. Maybe the ability to generate the random playlist is being thwarted by the sheer volume. I don't know. The quitting seems most common during the nightly rescan for new and changed music.

Who knows? Did you check your server.log file?

Your collection certainly is on the bigger end. But there's no known
threshold. What's your server machine's specs? What 3rd party plugins
    are you using?

Random play certainly is not easy on large collections, as it would
create a list of all tracks in memory to keep track of what has been
    played and what not...

    Then please check scanner.log, too.

I'd be happy to grab the logs the next time the server stops and share them, as I'd have little idea of what to check for. How would that be?

Once it's running again there's a link in Settings/Information to
    download the file.

One more thing: you should try the latest 7.9.2 nightly. There has been
an issue which could lead to memory issues with larger collections,
    leading to crashes.

I know how to get the logs. I just don't think I'd be very good at interpreting them. I would like to grab them when there's been a recent event. My question is will it be useful to post them here for inspection?

    I will try 7.9.2

I will, shortly. The server stopped in the night. The nightly scan completed...probably before the server stopped. Will a server log from after the restart contain info about events that occurred before the restart?

Will installing the latest nightly build behave like installing an update? It begins with the install wizard and I DO NOT want to do a clean install that will result in a full library scan, or the loss of any settings.
