Sure enough, I get strange results as well. On Chrome it's OK, but on Firefox I do not get the help - I get the menu list (ie left panel) only - no right hand panel.

Very strange! I tried just entering the URL (w.x.y.z:9000/html/docs/help.html) rather than clicking on the link, with the same result.

    I'm on Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1524841547 @ Thu May 3 15:11:25 CEST 2018, on linux (ubuntu 18.04)
Mine works absolutely fine on Firefox 60.0.1, IE 11.165.17134.0 and Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0

I access by FQDN though IE FQDN:9000 although seems to work OK by IP address

Ok, now I've completely broken it:

    1. Clear Chrome cache (current x64 Chrome build)
    2. Launch Chrome via favorite to "server:9000?player=ma.ca.dd.re.ss" and it opens fine
    3. Close Chrome
    4. Launch to same URL and I get the "Help" content in the left frame

Cleared cache and ran through this again and it repeats. Go to "Developer" mode and do an "Empty Cache and Hard Reload" page refresh and it does not correct. Damn.

OK WAIT: If I instead put in the IP address instead of the server name, it works as it should. This is something I've not seen before, but now I have a clue.

WAIT AGAIN: No, using the IP address does not correct the issue. Same behavior as above. Chrome seems "stuck" on pulling the Help content into the left frame.

    Please try this:

    • Open a complete new Browser session
    • browse to your lms
    • click the link to settings -> a new tan is open with the settingspage
    • browse any other website in this tab
    • go back to your lms tab
    • click settings again
    • The same old tab is re-used
    • That was always the case its not new and the same for settings and help

    btw:

    This is very weird.

In firefox (61.0.1), starting with no history, help worked. Closed that tab & tried again. Didn't work (showed menu as one panel). Sometimes I get the help, sometimes the menu. It doesn't alternate strictly, but seeming randomly.

Closed firefox and started it again. Showed help in left panel instead of menu. Reloaded the tab (not restarted) and the menu came back.

    Most peculiar.

Things eventually got weird enough that I cleared the Squeezebox cache on my server and rebooted. Now all is well again. I am going to stay away from that "Help" link, however. There is something about it that, once you've clicked on it, LMS web GUI now loads it into the "Home" frame whenever you launch that browser.

if you need the help - try this workaround with the "old" skin
    http://lms.server.ip:9000/en/html/docs/index.html
    /edit
or mouse right klick "open link in new window"
    \edit

    7.9 Problems/Bugs

    >> I can't get the "Help" link at bottom left of web GUI to work on IE or
    >> Chrome; just refreshes the "Home" page. I thought it worked on Firefox,
    >> but creates a different type of error where the next time you visit
    >> "server:9000" it opens the Help page instead of the Home page. This is
    >> on the release version of 7.9.1. I looked in 7.9.2 changelog, but did
    >> not see anything related to this. Thanks.

has there been any conclusion whether this is a wider issue, or
    apebrain's only? I can't reproduce it on Safari/Chrome. Don't have any
other browser with me right now.
