It looks like it's fixed after installing 7.9.0 - 1400081103, but only AFTER deleting library.db

Yes, and I have no idea, why this would be. While I've figured out what change broke things, I don't understand why the issue persists with the file (which was the reason why I wasn't able to reproduce it).

OK, I'm running 7.9.0 - 1400081103, but still not getting a complete scan.
    I don't have a library.db to delete.

Running on Windows server, I had run the cleanup which removed the cache so no .db files at all.

If I start LMS and run a 'clear library and rescan' it terminates unexpectedly.

A 'new and changed' scan just appears to hang on the 2nd track of the first album.

    I'll try again later.

What files do you see in your cache folder? Is there a persist.db?

Ok, just realised what the problem was (I think)

The path for the Cache folder in server.prefs was incorrect, and I don't know how it got in there....

Size: 38.3 KB

    ------

The Cache Folder is at C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache.

I corrected the server.prefs file and it is now re-creating the library.

A relict of an XP installation?

WHS version 1 had a similar folder structure to XP I think, which is where the server.prefs would have come from.

Although I upgraded to WHS2011 a while ago, and I can't remember having problems at the time.
Thinking back I may have done a 'clean' install at the time and then replaced the prefs after.

Even if the cache pref points to the "wrong" folder, I don't see how that in itself can cause a problem. As long as LMS can read and write to the folder.
