Probably true.
I do have a reasonably good power service, haven't had a blackout for many years. Seems a common problem now-a-days.....

We decided to go the piCore route. Minimalist install, a few hundred megabytes. Raspberry Pi OS, for example, has all the bells and whistles and is over 4 gigabytes. There are quite a few really good audio distributions based on top of RPiOS for that reason....

I think if one of the piCorePlayer authors had a problem with their LMS setups, that required ntp, it would become a default install. The piCorePlayer guys are spread around the world and none of us have this issue....

Ron,
There are quite a few gotchas getting this working.
First, check the version of /usr/local/etc/init.d/squeezelite you are using.
Code:cat /usr/local/etc/init.d/squeezelite # Version: 4.0.0 2018-0-15 - NO # Version: 8.2.1 2022-11-17 - YES

Your assumption is right, a default pCP build will just attach to a network over wired ethernet.
Squeezelite though, may not start if the sound card is not available and therefore will not appear in LMS.
By default, it should default to Headphones.

You really need to try for yourself. Some people can hear differences, some can't.
I tend to go for convenience over perceived improvements....

Very strange for a text editor not to have a paste command.
onboot.list should be onboot.lst but....
I don't think editing onboot.lst is necessary....

I think you should forget about piCorePlayer and start with RPiOS.
As you are probably aware, piCore is not your average Linux distribution.

No need to add those. Everything in home/tc is already included in the backup.
Try adding command to [Tweaks] > "User commands". It should run late enough in the boot process.
While adding stuff to home/tc is OK for testing, you should really investigate making...

Before you posted the link, no one knew what hardware or software you were using. You were a bit scant on details.
The instructions are for a "generic" 3.5 inch display. If your display is compatible with the generic display then the instructions should get it functioning....

I believe we removed it years ago.
It was slowing things down and until the time was synced it would show the wrong time.
I'm still looking for a report or log that shows the time!!

I have a dim memory that the "Whole SD Card" option is actually a fraction less (maybe 100MB??) to give a little wiggle room.
The flexible resizing option was really just to give people the choice, especially as SD cards got bigger or if you use a third partition.

See piCorePlayer documentation, Projects, Add a Topping E30 USB DAC.
Different USB DAC but the process should be the same.
In step 9, instead of hw:CARD=E30,DEV=0 use what is appropriate for your DAC.
