Does LMS support external/sidecar tags

So I am not sure if this is a Material or LMS setting but is there a way to get music sorting where "Jim Crocce" is under J instead of C? Same with "Dave Matthews Band", it is under M. Is it possible to have the sorting just use the first letter, other than "The" I sup...

I am looking to add a large amount of Grateful Dead recordings to my lms server. Before doing so I need to tag them and was curious if LMS supports any types of external tags. Searching online I am not finding much info. This would be helpful as I could still seed the shows
