Yes, this brought me on the right track and after I used the command squeezelite -l, I found some sensible output settings.
The speaker is working now. Too easy ...

Hi, I found an old Logitech speaker (Logitech Laptop Speaker Z205) which connects (only) via USB to the computer to get power and the audio.
I checked the speaker: it's working and the sound quality is pretty good (for its size).

So I tried to get it working with pCP 8.1.0 ... but...
