I use a Topping D90LE, same thing, without mqa.
I run squeezelite with the following options:
'-M Topping_D90LE -m <mac_address> -n <Name> -o hw:0 -p 1 -D :u32be -X -C 5'
important part is this one:
'-o hw:0 -D :u32be'
Of course, dsd support need to be enabled...

I already say it somewhere,:
If using a bridge, the discovery will not work, (broadcast isn't working on docker driver bridge). Meaning that you will need to configure all your clients accordingly.

So, yes, the D90LE do not decode MQA, while your D90SE does.
Interesting. As far as i understand mqa (decode flac, decode mqa then reencode flac?), not sure if the issue happen on tidal plugin side or squeezelite. Pretty...

Yeah, theses parameters, did you try without -a and -r ?
This is mine:
OPTS='-M Topping_D90LE -m b8:27:eb:fd:23:76 -n Bureau -o hw:0 -p 1 -D :u32be -X -C 5'
I use '-D :u32be' since i got dsd files.
