No, plan ahead mode started 5 or 6 years ago and involved snapping up SB3's on eBay at a good price.

It culminates with a cupboard full of SB3's and Duets and the sound of your wife asking "surely you don't need that many?"...

Forgive me if this has already been suggested, but how about connecting the receiver to your router with an ethernet cable and setting it up using the LAN?
