Players unable to connect to LMS

That doesn't happen for me - having started SWYH, copied the new URL and pasted that into my LMS Favorite, it works everytime I re-start SWYH, without further intervention.

Arrgghhhh ...... I've moved house and router since I last used SWYH...... So, with the correct, new URL in the LMS Favorite SWYH, it's now up and working! Would have taken me forever to fix without that prompt!

The little SWYH program is definitely running? What you have feels very like what I previously had ....... As SWYH is something of a memory hog when not needed, I turned off its autoboot - and then forgot that I needed to run it manually on the laptop to get LMS to see it....

Thanks Jim! As the fingers are going backwards (now in a brace, to hopefully avoid surgery), both typing and fiddling with cables are annoyingly difficult! So, I'll probably drop this issue for a while, unless it becomes impossible. But I'll be pondering it too, and noting any odd characteristics....

That topography query was pointed at the second problem poser in the thread, bencat . I had laid out my system in the opening post!

I will throw in one extra detail that I was able to ascertain in the last outage - non SB devices connected perfectly happily to every element of the system...

Just a small update from the OP. Still getting the problem every few days..... As nothing I do by way of power cycling, rebooting etc seems to make much difference, I'm now just leaving the system as it is, and afer 20 or so minutes it just starts working again. Odd.

No, players are not synced.

Oddly, separating the 2.5 and the 5 by SSID seems not possible in the router config....... This router seems to have very limited configuration options, but that maybe me not being used to it...... I'm told that the smartphone router app does offer more config...

Yes, it's an odd one....... I don;t think it can be a time out etc on the laptop as not only am I using it generally when it happens, but I can still push music to the smart TV while the SBs are dropped out. What may be the case is that the laptop and the TV are preferring the 5gHz band of the router...

Since moving home, this has been an occasional issue, but now seems more persistent. A Touch and a Radio are on the same network as the laptop running LMS. Usually all works fine. But recently, every morning, the radio streams cut out, and the players vanish form LMS, From the players I can ascertain...

The mini remote, without the number keys, does indeed control Radios and Touches (which are the only devices I have.....)....

Don't forget that all SB-kit remotes work on all devices (with some differences in the available buttons....).
