Thank you for sharing this very useful information! To provide some more background, a few months ago I have moved into a new apartment. In my old house I experienced the same problem with my Pi Zero, but there it also happened that the Pi became totally unresponsive. The Pi had then disappeared from...Last edited by CJS; Today, 11:44.

Thanks for your reply. The PSU is an official Raspberry Pi 2.5A supply, which should be more than powerful enough for a Pi Zero W. I was also thinking about a Wifi interruption, but then I do not understand why squeezelite and jivelite keep working while the pCP webserver and SSH server apparently stop...

Is there a specific reason why you recommend to download the latest LMS v8.4, which is the development branch? Why not the latest v8.3.1, which is the stable bugfix branch?...

On the bottom of the pCP web interface you can select between "Player" and "Player/Server" mode. Probably you have unintentionally selected the "Player" mode.
PS: If you want you can update to Squeezelite v1.9.9-1419-pCP by clicking the Full Update button under...Last edited by CJS; Yesterday, 20:03.

Thanks for your reply, but the pCP on my Pi zero on which access to the web interface is sometimes lost is only a player. LMS is not installed on this Pi. In this case, do you still think an out of memory event is causing the issue?...

OK, then you probably have the latest 8.3.0. This is the latest officially released version of LMS, but not necessarily the most stable version. For example, the LMS Community's Docker image of LMS defines the following update tags:
latest: the latest release version, currently v8.3.0...

eCo, are you sure that you are using the very latest (released) version of LMS 8.3.0, so not an intermediate nightly build? The changelog of 8.3.0 mentions few fixes to the Audio::Scan function. You can only be sure that those fixes are included in your LMS 8.3.0 if you are using the released version...

The OPML file contains something like 480 different audio streams, all from radcap.ru. On first glance these seem to be all music streams, so I do not expect large scale Russian political propaganda. Must be an operation with significant financial backing. Makes me wonder what is the revenue model of...Last edited by CJS; Yesterday, 12:45.

Shrinking the second partition should also be possible with GParted on a Linux system.
But since the topic starter has a working pCP with LMS already configured, my suggestion would be to start with providing him with only the two files slimserver.tcz and slimserver.tcz.md5.txt of LMS 8.2.1....

I suppose that the easiest way is to power down pCP, take out the SD-card and put the card in a card reader, and connect the card reader to a PC. On a Windows PC the two files slimserver.tcz and slimserver.tcz.md5.txt can be copied to /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional on the SD-card using WinSCP. On a Linux...

Yes, version 8.2.0 is there, but 8.2.1 version seems to be missing. According to paul- (see his post in this thread above) the lms-update-script uses the -noCPAN.tgz package....

On http://downloads-origin.slimdevices.com, the folder for latest 8.2.0 is there, but the 8.2.1 folder seems to be missing.
That would be nice for sc1pzb.
Btw, I found this thread piCoreplayer - specify LMS build to install?, that talks about using the lms-update-script...

The Changelog of LMS 8.3.1 mentions following bug fix: "#857 Fix changing MySB credentials using the "setsncredentials" command".
This may fix the problem that LMS repeatedly asks for your mysqueezebox.com credentials. Also note that version 8.3.0 is the latest version that...

There is an lms update script for pCP for manually updating LMS on pCP, but as far as I can see with this script you can only select between:
- latest release version (at this moment 8.3.0)
- latest bugfix version (at this moment 8.3.1 nightly)
- latest development version (at this...

Yes, that should be possible. I do this occasionally for offline editing of the favorites.opml file. After overwriting the favorites.opml file LMS should be restarted to pick up the changes. I know how to do this for my LMS running on Linux Mint, but not for LMS running on pCP. So you need to figure...Last edited by CJS; 2023-01-30, 13:46.

According to the LMS Changelog, support for media types other than audio has been removed since LMS version 8.3.0.
There was a thread started by mherger with a discussion about this change, but I can't find that thread at this moment.Last edited by CJS; 2023-01-30, 13:16.

The symptoms that you experience seem to indicate that the LMS part of pCP is corrupted. If I were you I would indeed consider a full reinstallation, including a reformat of your SD card.
Tip: When after a full reinstallation you have a working system again, make a backup of your SD card...

What Philippe mentions limits the sample rate of the audio sent to the player to 48000 samples per second. You can also limit the bitrate of the audio sent to the player via the LMS web interface. On the Player tab, select the player for which you want to limit the bitrate, and then Audio. Under the...

Did you also try http://192.168.68.123:9000? You should then get LMS with default skin. Maybe the material plugin has been removed by accident.
Or just click LMS at the very top line of the pCP landing page....Last edited by CJS; 2023-01-29, 23:38.
