You can now customise the top level home menu of BBC Sounds. Certain items can now be removed/added by amending the options in the BBC Sounds settings.
Continue Listening can now be added to the home menu in preferences.
Thanks for the info. Interestingly, the RadioPlayer plugin already links through to the BBC Sounds plugin. Still, I expect I will need to make changes to the radio player plugin....
Not to discourage you from upgrading, but the BBC Sounds plugin does work on 7.9.4. The minimum version tested against is 7.9.3. (There are a few bits of functionality only provided by 8.2 and higher, but they do not prevent it from working) There are lots of reasons to upgrade though....
Unfortunately, the api doesn't provide the track length. So I set it to show track data for an arbitrary 2 minutes, which is probably ok for most, but not so good for classic fm! I'll probably make that a user preference at some point, so it can be set to personal preference.
The good news is I've fired up a windows machine and recreated the problem. After some poking around I've managed to get the SSL connection to work on windows. Please can you try again on version 2.0.7
NB I've no idea why the station images are not downloading for you, that is something...
Reposting this as it may have got lost in the other posts, the latest version fixes the rebuffering issue, please can I have feedback that that is others experience too....
Ok, scrap that theory, the web socket server only supports TLS 1.2 which is the older standard, so it is something else. I will have to dig out a windows machine!...
Thanks for checking. I suspect they have set the minimum SSL/TLS version on their servers, which happens to be the same for where those images are stored and their websocket server. Anyway, that's useful information and I'll check. I hope this isn't a sign of an issue with that version of perl, as...
Thank you.
I wonder if that perl version is simply not recent enough for the SSL/TLS they are using on their server. If you uninstall the beta version and install the bog standard version of the plugin on the main repository, does that version also fail to retrieve the images for the radio stations...
Beta Release 2.0.6.
Many thanks for all the feedback.
I believe I have fixed the rebuffering issue . Please can I have some feedback on the streaming consistency with this new version.
I'm currently looking at the transition to the new programme and trying to prevent a pause...
Ah ok, thanks, it looks like the Web socket connection does not work on your set up. That's essential. I suspect it is going to be a Windows issue. I'll dig out a windows machine and investigate ........
That's odd. Are there any obvious errors in server.log? If not, please can you turn on the global player debug logging, then try and play a live station from the menu and send me the server log. Thanks....
