There's something wrong there... Was a scan running at the same time? Or is drive c: running out of disk space? An AV scanner blocking the file?...

Hi Alfi - welcome to the Squeezebox forums!
Are you using LMS with your SB? Or MySqueezebox only? If LMS: what version?

I tried that:
And it worked - in a regular session. But the installer tries to launch the preference pane after the installation. That might cause the failure in your case.
And you should obviously make sure the target path exists....

I have no experience with the command whatsoever. I'd recommend you read its man page and google around for the error message?
Or you ask chatGPT. That's what everybody's doing nowadays

No idea. Would the same happen again if you selected the menu item once again?
I think they put some quite aggressive caching in place. Sometimes I also feel like I got served outdated content....

The MAI plugin is not responsible for the presentation of the information. This would be a Jivelite question....

While I'd agree for the case of "internal" links (pointing to the forum), I think it's quite useful for external links.
Indeed. A failed attempt. Thanks for the heads-up!...

I've never done that myself... I'd just use screen sharing instead.
But it seems to be possible, see eg. https://www.techrepublic.com/article...acos-and-os-x/. LMS comes as an installer package. But as I said: I've never done...

Argh... I hate those... They're all over the place on my NAS. Doesn't hurt me (I'm the Mac user), but on my wife's Windows machine they're a mess....

If it wasn't for the cropped icon, would you still prefer the raw link? I thought it was often confusing with the dots in it. And people would copy paste the "shortened" link - which then wouldn't work any more.

Hehe... what a picture! But no. My musical career hasn't been successful. And multiple screens cost a fortune!
Unfortunately I can't find the full picture any more. I thought it was the day I started on a ski touring trip without my skiing boots... but I can't find proof. I wore those...

That’s not just an avatar. It’s a real selfie from back when that term didn’t even exist yet!...

Well, that's odd. I assume the filesystem isn't something like FAT32, but a "Linux native"? What if you created one of those files yourself? Would it be picked up by MAI?

Do you have UTF8 support enabled on your system? Can you share the system information part found on Settings/Information? I'm using filenames like 'Walo Lüönd.jpg' successfully.

Yes, that’s a deliberate choice to not overload the server. As you can imagine a search for „I“ could return a massive results list....

Oh, are you "measuring" the time taken once you hit Enter on that input field? That would be the same search. But if you just type, you should get a "live search" (only works if you have a player connected). That live search is almost instant with a 100k tracks library....

8.4 should get an update in a bit. I was missing a "LEFT" in a JOIN (for those familiar with SQL). Fixing this brought one query down from 3s to 0.05s.
Definitely not what I'm seeing. Can you enable logging for database.sql, run a search, then see which request...

Can you confirm this is with the search from the Search menu item, and NOT with the "quick" search at the top of the menu panel?
FWIW: I see much slower responses from that menu item in Default, too. And I see the same in 8.3. The big difference here is that the quick search at...Last edited by mherger; 2023-01-24, 06:06.
