If you are going that route then you only need the Andy Grundman UPnP/DLNA Interface plugin. (The Bridge does something else.) Then try Foobar2000 again....

I think those errors come from some minor bug in LMS that’s nothing to do with your issue and actually has zero affect on functionality

The other thing about the WiiM that worries me although I have not hit it yet is the constant updates and the clamour on their forum for all sorts of weird additions which their forum person readily jumps on with no idea about the technical issues. I expect mine to break at some point because of this...

in general I agree with this as I am trialling a WiiM Mini with the UPnP/DLNA Bridge and it’s near perfect. But the key is it is only “near” perfect it isn’t 100% perfect compared to a Pi with piCorePlayer which is 100% perfect in LMS terms....

If those are the same files as you have on LMS use iPeng. If they are different try Foobar2000 on iPhone...

Technically Samba is a Linux emulation of the Windows SMB file sharing protocol. SMB stands for Server Message Block....

On your Pi with piCorePlayer install LMS and point it at the files on your Samba server. There are lots of guides on how.

Perhaps you have already done that and the real question is about iPhone / iPad?

While this approach may work I don’t think even philippe_44 would risk spending $€£000s on a Streamer without being 100% sure beforehand. UPnP is just too flaky as a protocol.

Personally I’d go the Pi route with a USB connection to a high end DAC or Pi with Digi HAT and digital connection...

My files reside on a NAS with 4 HD disks in Raid 5 and I do not experience any issue with audio - even long files. LMS connects via NFS.
The same NAS holds my ripped DVDs but I use a different device for my Plex server. If there is any kind of transcoding going on then I think a Pi any version...

You might hate me for saying this but have you thought about Replay Gain tags? Great to have but really needs to be across the board. Fortunately it’s not difficult to add them in bulk even with a large collection. I used Foobar2000 to do it....

The plugin was installed (it is by default isn't it?. The service was enabled at mySB.com but the account in use had long since expired.
For some reason LastMix decided to add a Tidal track when it hadn't done so for years and it coincided with an upgrade. Not worth worrying about....
