Well I’m sitting here listening to New Beginnings by Tracy Chapman through my SBT and it sounds pretty good indeed. I think I’m going to stick with it for now. I usually get the hifi itch in January so I’ll probably revisit it then. Grateful for everyone’s comments....

My MDAC has given up the ghost and I’ve reverted to using the Touch via its internal DAC. Although it sounds OK to me, I’m wondering how much external DACs have improved in the 10 years or so I’ve been using the MDAC, and what I should be considering in terms of brand and price if I’m to better...
