  • Depends on what you are comparing it to eh Gary? . Mine was off 63 seconds after 63 days. I didn't notice. The thing is, I restart LMS all of the time, pcp - almost never unless I mess something up (which happens, ask anyone here )

    Default/Option is no big deal for me, Paul Webster...

  • exactly why I said "unless of course it's to the detriment of something else...". I'm not beating a drum, just sorry I missed the fact that it was available, and happy to have found it.

    Ah Ha! Give Michael the prize!

    my SD has 3 partitions, with my LMS data being on the third. I have two mounts - LMS data and my usb hard drive. I must have made my full sd backup in 7 to the SD. I then copied to my PC to be able to burn another one. So The backup image (used to rebuild)...

    This post is for completeness. I restored 7 with a backup, and the update to 8 went fine. I put the SD that had failed back in, and here are the logs:

    The cache.db file was 0 bytes, so I must have mangled it somehow. I deleted it, and restarted pcp, but it didn't help....

  • For others that might stumble on this thread - I think only 3 posts are needed, but I seem to recall that it helps if/you need to log out and back into the forum after 3. I have also pm'ed newish members as a test, and they were able to reply to the pm, and them they could pm after that.

    Full disclaimer, I am certainly not complaining about anything from anyone volunteering their time and brain power for the greater good...

    I must have missed this, and I am wondering how. Paul Webster told me about this add when I was having...

    Ok, I didn't know where to look for the log file in the LMS data, so I just burned a SD of the backup that I made of 7 before the failed update. I tested the new image, did as ronnie said, then did the update again and all is fine. The only thing different is in the first (failed) update there were...

    Hi Ronnie;

    I had tried that and it didn't help. Just tried it again and all extension versions matched, and no go again. I am in the process of burning my pcp7 backup to SD and I might give the update a go again...or listen to music for a while first

    I got around to doing an insitu update from pcp7 to 8, and I ran into a bit of a problem. LMS will not start. When I start it from the LMS tab it states "LMS is running" but it's not, a refresh shows "not running". When I try to access LMS via anything, like the "Configure LMS"...

  • Thanks for the info on NTP. If you decide to put it (elapsed time) back in I'll read the release notes, update, and test it.

  • Maybe. But I remember going through this when a power cut would trash my "time" and cause RP FLAC not to play and my clock screensavers to go black. A periodic NTP query would have been ideal. I'll have to go back through my history and see if something was ever offered.

  • maybe it falls off a cliff at day 30

    Seriously though, is it pcp? If there is no RTC then the OS must be "counting"

    I love this forum for how an initial query morphs into a related but completely different, very interesting discussion. Especially when allot of us have lived through the history. I have really enjoyed reading the various perspectives on the technology. I appreciate the time that all of you have taken...

  • The pi is fast by one minute and about 3-4 seconds. I compared to both my phone and windows machine. Both pi and windows are on the same router (ethernet), no switches or anything in between. I turned off wifi on my phone to make sure I was getting time from cell network, and time on phone and pc were...

  • 0.0.33g is immensely better. I have listened maybe 1/2 hour since updating, and there is art, artist, song for every track. The only thing that happens (not a big deal, and expected) is that the previous song info persists until a bit into the next track. In fact, there was a song1, short station dialog...

  • Sure, to me clear, things go wrong most of the time. I don't think it used to be that way. I also haven't (but will) try another L365 station.

  • Hi Paul;

    Let me attempt to try for a short summary of what I am seeing with acid hill and RNP. Maybe it will jog something. I am not asking for you to do anything about it, but since allot of the music is pretty obscure, I'd like to get artist song info, which I do without RNP, but I want...
