I can recommend the Orchard Audio PecanPi DAC/Streamer. When you buy it, you get the DAC and the Raspberry Pi in a single package. You can select the version with Volumio (other options are piCorePlayer, etc)

I was notified yesterday that The Pi Hut has the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B back in stock at 40 GBP. I signed up for this information but purchased my 3B a while ago. The 3 Model B is plenty good for a piCorePlayer.

It is Synology that stopped their support for the necessary environment, such that the community package for LMS no longer works.
Since you have a 718+ with an Intel Celeron CPU, you can consider installing Docker on your Diskstation, and then installing the LMS Docker program....
