Just in case someone else encounters this in the future, I was able to resolve the problem by using the pCP web interface to remove both LMS and Samba and then reinstalling both. It didn't work when I only removed/reinstalled Samba....

It's working now. I went back to a card image I had saved with pCP 8.0.0 last August, got BT working in that, and then updated in place to 8.1.0 and then 8.2.0. So as you surmised, it was probably something missing or corrupt in the installation I was trying earlier....

You're probably right about that. That's what I was starting to think.
I've put in a bit of time getting my LMS configuration on this RPi "just so". I might try going back to an image I saved from when I had pCP 8.0.0 on this RPi, see if I can get the BT working on that, and then upgrading...

Not sure, but I think so.

I'm just beginning to try out the BT functionality in pCP. I got it going with no problems -- playing to BT earbuds -- on a backup Pi that has a fresh install of pCP 8.2.0.
I then went to activate it on my primary Pi, also running pCP 8.2.0. My first few attempts to add the BT extensions...Last edited by aubuti; 2023-01-18, 22:36.

Thanks, that gives some insights on why it's not launching, though I have no idea why I'd be missing libtalloc.so.2 on a fresh install.
Code:[email protected]:/usr/local/etc/init.d$ ./samba4 start Need to run as root. [email protected]:/usr/local/etc/init.d$ sudo ./samba4 start Starting

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately in this case that seems to be a catch-22: you can't enter the password unless Samba is already running. Nevertheless, I tried clearing the browser cache and refreshing the Samba configuration page, but still can't get Samba to start.

With the usual apologies if this has been explained elsewhere or this is the wrong thread....
I've been running pCP fine for years -- great stuff and thanks to all who are responsible for it! I just pulled out a second Pi that has been unused in a while and am doing a fresh install of 8.2.0...
