I think it depends on the player and the bitrate.

Using the "Music Information Screen" plugin I set my SB3 to show the buffer fullness %. (top left in the shaky video below)

This is usually at 100% and counts down until it gets to 10 seconds from the end of the track...

I've just now had to input my new SSID and password on a SB Classic, needs an IR remote to do that.

Also, I have an illuminated SB IR remote, not from a Transporter, I think I purchased it from a company called Ripcaster many years ago, anyone remember them?

No, it is not a Logitech device.

I only connected it to mysqueezebox.com to illustrate that players other than Logitech hardware players can connect to mysqueezebox.com and play radio stations.

I don't use mysqueezebox.com at all, I have no need of it, no matter how many times...

Unless you use music services like Tidal or Qobuz you do not need mysqueezebox.com....

I used to think, and was led to believe this too. However it's just not true, my Pi/DAC is connected to mysqueezebox.com and is happily playing BBC Radio 2.
Only one of the players in the list below is a true Logitech hardware device.
