We should probably move this back to the thread dedicated to the update action...Leave a comment:

I entered squeezeboxserver but Logitech Media Server became the owner. No idea why....Leave a comment:

I still don't see "Update LMS" as an option with the group as plugdev or nogroup.Leave a comment:

That changes the owner to Logitech Media Server and the group to plugdev. Does that look right?...Leave a comment:

It could be permissions. The material-skin folder and actions.json have owner and group of "root" when they probably should be "Logitech Media Server" and "nogroup" but I have had no luck changing them using shown....Leave a comment:

Thanks, I didn't read far enough down that page. I'm trying to find out why the action I added to a trial Ubuntu isn't showing up on the menu....Leave a comment:

I must be going mad. I just went to look on GitHub for actions.json information and couldn't find it. What am I missing?Leave a comment:

It's taking hours to download Ubuntu even via torrent 😀...Leave a comment:

You can install Ubuntu from a USB stick without affecting your current Windows installation. I might try to get LMS working on that if I find the time....Leave a comment:

It probably won't make any difference but I forgot to say that the visudo command should be used to edit the new file in the sudoers folder. It warns about errors before saving the file....Leave a comment:

Yes, the actions.json file is in the Prefs folder which is persistent....👍 1Leave a comment:

It took a while to get it to work from Material actions. This is the final solution

I noticed after a recent update to Community Firmware that the timezone setting on my Radio needed to be reset....Leave a comment:

Do the check for updates on the Radio itself in Settings/Advanced/Software Update
If it isn't available try restarting LMS....Leave a comment:

As easy as just clicking Update LMS in Material skin? 😀

WinSCP is probably easiest. It connects to the player using SSH. Find the patch file in the left window and the destination folder on the SB in the right window and click upload. I saw some recent posts regarding WinSCP settings....Leave a comment:
