  • New Take On Hi-res Portable (and Pi Power)

I was surprised when this Pi3B/IQ Audio DAC+ combination was easily powered by my Anker battery bank.

My first foray into a wifi implementation.

Now I can enjoy my music in hi-res in my favourite armchair.

Now, if you could mount the Pi+ and the Power Supply into a comfy hat, you'd be truly self-contained......

I came to the same conclusion when I'd got this working. I bought a short Anker cable from Amazon and also A USB switch after I tried to modify a project box but found the combination of my advanced years and too powerful a soldering iron overwhelmed the tiny switch.

Ronnie, I had to give up cycling a couple of years ago and my interest in the grand tours has declined I'm afraid but I do like watching the track cycling at the various events. Apparently there are some here in Birmingham next year at the Commonwealth Games. Maybe I'll go to one or two of those. I'm 74 now, I know my hearing isn't what it used to be in frequency terms but the music still sounds great when I've got my headphones on.

You have loads of DAC's and players always wanted to try a Khadas Tone Board but haven't got round to it yet.

Incidentally I noticed I inadvertently referred you to an incorrect link in my last post. The correct link for AKG's etc is:

Thelink was OK Ian, I managed to navigate to the AKG page, but thanks for the correct link anyway

Drop me a PM and we can discuss a loan, no problemo

The Khadas Tone Board is an incredibly good DAC for its price but decent cases are difficult to find. The best one I found was Audiophonics

                            Audiophonics case.

Khadas Tone Board sitting on top of Pi4 in Pibox Pro case. The width dimension is the same on both as luck would have it.

                              Capacity used? Duration of playback?

May I ask (to anyone doing this):

                              a) what capacity powerbank (mAh)?
                              b) roughly what duration of portable playback do you get from a full charge?

                              Thanks in advance!
