Announce: Enhanced Digital Output app - USB Dac and 192k Digital Ouput

Well a nice surprise this morning. Decided to try and investigate why I was "only" getting 96KHz on Qobuz streams that provide up to 192. I have been using EDO. First, I connected a USB instead of the optical that I was using, rebooted my SB Touch, and voila!, was able to get it 192, but with dropouts that I have experienced in the past using USB. So I connected to ethernet even though I have extremely fast Wi-Fi, and that didn't help it. So decided that I would settle for 96. I disconnected the USB, disconnected ethernet, put the optical back in, changed a couple of settings on the SB(honestly can't remember exactly what, though), rebooted, and double Voila!...192 still playing, and with no dropouts! Why, how, what?? Beats me. Maybe setting changes, maybe reboots, but I'm getting 192 streams on my SMSL SU-9 DAC now without any issues, using optical and no ethernet.


Gremlins must've decided to let me have my pudding and eat it too. No other explanation.

I have just tried to install EDO and it is not listed in the 3rd party Apps under Applet Installer, perhaps ralphy will help

Thats good to know I have been trying everything with no luck reset my pc reset the router rest the touch reinstalled the sever nothing seems to work

The free service sdf.org that I use to host the extensions, sometimes perform system maintenance which takes the web services offline for up to a day.
Unfortunately, most hosting services today forcibly redirect http to https, which the touch, radio and controller don't support for extension downloads.

well screen is ok, just the touch...
i am not sure this is created by EDO.
do you have an idea to fix it?

You don't give purchase details.

If it was me, I would return it as not working (the clue being in the word "Touch")

Where in the world are you ?

I don't remember seeing any post about the "touch" not working on a SBT. This does not mean that they don't, of course

EDO does not effect the "touch", maybe the seller has messed with the screen settings in the SBT software (it should have been cleared of all previous setting anyway, before it was dispatched, unless you agreed otherwise)

My old SBT has a screen falt but the "touch" still responds.

I got myself a new DAC - SMSL C100 with USB, so installed EDO. The DAC is powered through its one USB port. The Touch provides enough power (Using the DAC's Bluetooth input right now from my TV). EDO settings gives me the choice of Analogue & Digital, Digital Only or SMSL USB AUDIO. Selecting Digital Only works - sending the output to the DAC's optical input.

Selecting SMSL USB AUDIO reboots the Touch as expected (which of course briefly powers off the DAC but it powers back on early in the Touch boot sequence). The problem is that tracks will not play - clicking the play button on either the Touch's screen or in the browser interface does nothing. Is this a timing problem due to the DAC drawing power from the Touch?

Settings/Audio Settings/Digital Output shows "USB-Audio - SMSL USB AUDIO [INFO]". Clicking on this shows Status: Stop, Speed: High, Connection: Direct, etc.
