EDO forgets DAC

Hi, when I had switched off the NAD C510 Preamp/DAC, the Touch was asleep and I switch on both again, I need to 1st switch to "Digital Output" (reboot) and then to "NAD C510" in the extended settings menu.
This is a pretty annoying procedure. Is it possible to avoid this and make the Touch recognize the C510 right away or remember it?

I have just tested; using a Micromega Mydac connected to the Touch (with EDO) via a usb cable.

Power off the Touch whilst listening to fip radio stream (use the screen back arrow in the top left corner). The touch screen is set to display the time.

The usb connection led on the Mydac is solid (connected).

Pull the plug on the Touch (I don't have a power strip with switches). The Mydac USB led starts to flash (showing it is disconnected)

Pull the plug on Mydac.

Wait for the capacitors to discharge

Plug in the Mydac, the usb input input starts flashing.

Plug in the Touch, wait (30 secs or so) the station continues playing.

This is, off course, over a much shorter timescale, not overnight, so may vary.

There is a thread (somewhere) on using udev rules to give what you seem to want; Touch in sleep mode, power on Dac (essentially hot-plug to the Touch).

I think I have seen a reference to this in the piCoreplayer help documentation

After my last posting I powered off the Touch and dac in the sequence described.

I have just powered on the devices (after 90 minutes) as per the posting and the only difference is that the Touch booted to the home screen without playing music.

I tapped the quaver icon and the now playing screen said "Stopped" I tapped play and the station stared playing again

This evening I switched on the DAC first and when it had booted (it really boots and needs some time ), I started a playlist on the Touch and it worked that way.
Will keep an eye and look at the threads you referred to.

EDO issue?

I have EDO installed. As of yesterday, the Touch no longer shows USB option when I click on select audio output. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it to no avail.

Not much information to go on here

So a couple of suggestions:

Reset the touch (press the small button above the power inlet at power on).

or

Connect the Touch to mysqueezebox.com; check if a change of software is offered. If it is, proceed with the update.

Then reinstall EDO.

Edit: if you then connect to your local lms, you will be offered another software update; accept this. It may be necessary to reinstall EDO

Make sure the Dac is connected and powered on whilst trying these suggestions.

More info about your set-up may help, including what happened when things went wrong

I ploughed through this thread but could not find anyone who has reported using the new Modius with an SBT on EDO 1.0. Everything appears to be OK except that there is no sound. SBT recognises the DAC as Schitt Modius Unison USB and also displays the sampling rates of the different tracks being played.

Just no music; not a mouse stirring. Feeling a bit shitty.

I got a Modius DAC this week. I installed EDO, set the digital output to USB, the DAC is recognized and shows output info but no sound. I've confirmed the correct inputs, etc. Coax and optical outputs of the Squeezebox touch work correctly to the same DAC. I've tried various digital output USB settings but to no avail. I've never used USB digital output of my squeezebox touch, and have no other devices that I can connect for testing.

Just wondering if a solution was found for this issue?

Touch connected via ethernet cable. Coax from touch to Oppo bdp-105. Works flawlessly at 96/24, but I cannot seem to achieve any sound at 192khz. Using Roon. When I select the 192 khz file, the album art shows on the Touch, but no sound.

The USB cable was indeed the key. Turns out the Oppo can only do 24-bit/192-kHz through the USB.

Solution: Missing Digital Output and EDO saying reinstall

Hello All,

I have 4 SBTs and I know I am late to the party, but decided to install EDO to access 192K material.

All SBTs are at 7.8....xx version

After going to App Gallery>3rd Party Apps etc, and installing EDO they all only reboot once and then seemingly that's it - they don't install a kernel and do the second reboot - and nor is EDO active.
In the Apps Gallery the EDO applet is listed as Re-Install - not Un-Install - so I assume it has not installed as evident above.
I then try installing the Kernel Updater in the Apps Gallery and that too ends up in a 'Re-Install' state.

I have of course tried then re-installing EDO but of course the status quo remains.
This happens on all 4 SBTs.

I have done a full factory reset - upgraded to 7.8 - that all goes well and all SBTs upgrade to latest firmware.
I am logged into Squeezebox.com in LMS.

If anyone can help in this regard it would be greatly appreciated.

Just had a similar problem running the 8.0.community firmware and the original 7.x Logitech ones on my Squeezebox Touch where there was no Digital Output menu option or message about EDO on the boot screen. So just In case anybody else has a similar issue like the above with the reinstall state and missing Digital Output page, it also turned out to be a networking issue but not firewall related (my guess is the DNS response might be a bit too slow). In my case the touch is connected to a secondary router via Ethernet which is in WiFi bridge mode and for whatever reason that seemed to stop it consistently being able to download the applet properly. I connected it directly to my main router, selected reinstall and it then downloaded the applet rebooted and downloaded and installed the kernel then prompted for the Digital Output destination.

I am running a Squeezebox Touch with EDO into a Bel Canto DAC 3.5VB and have no problem with 96 kHz source but no long with 192 kHz.

I have tried both Coax Spdif (Cardas digital) and toslink optical with no luck with the 192.
Source has included the Linn test files and 192 kHz playlist from Qobuz.

I know properly already discussed but I can’t find an answer.

Wow! Just figured it out after at least 5 years of trying (off and on).
I was synching the EDO Squeezebox from my whole house SB Touch which doesn’t have EDO.

Once I put the EDO SB in stand alone mode, I was in business with the digital coax. The toslink lost the signal.

Dumb me, yay! Sounds pretty decent!
