So, have you settled on which Dac you are going to get? For the record, I haven't said that Dac do not make a difference, but I do believe you are not going to get that improvement with just any inexpensive Dac. I personally plan to upgrade to a better dac at some point with a good pre amp output, so I can eliminate my dedicated preamp that i have from the days of having multiple audio inputs. If I don't get the improvement I'm expected I still have simplified my setup by eliminating 1 piece of equipment.

Well I’m sitting here listening to New Beginnings by Tracy Chapman through my SBT and it sounds pretty good indeed. I think I’m going to stick with it for now. I usually get the hifi itch in January so I’ll probably revisit it then. Grateful for everyone’s comments.
