I'm not sure much has changed...... for instance, I listen to BBC R3 via LMS using this Sounds stream saved as a favorite:

    sounds://_LIVE_bbc_radio_three

But if I want to use MySqueezebox.com rather than LMS, I use this old saved favorite, and it works fine at this moment:

I found the following is a solution to missing BBC channels:
When the BBC stopped its SHOUTCAST service in May 23 the squeezebox radio could not play Radio 4 et cetera and it could not be found on the station search. The solution was to find the streaming URL from e.g. https://garfnet.org.uk/cms/tables/ra...-radio-player/ and copy and paste it into the FAVORITES page for my radio at https://www.mysqueezebox.com/settings/favorites

Then on the radio press the HOME button and scroll down to FAVORITES where any URLs added should be visible and can be played by pressing the volume button. Once playing the connection can be added to one of the silver PRESET buttons by pressing it for a few seconds.

Reverting to the original starting point of this string, my understanding is that :
    - it is not guaranteed that the BBC Sounds plugin will work after the Beeb switches off Shoutcast, but hopefully it will
    - If so then I can continue to use my Touch _conveniently_ once I learn how to shuffle the menus around to put Beeb sound channels in the same place in the menu structure as non-Beeb channels
    - and that I need to find a RPi from somewhere if I am to avoid leaving my desktop running 24/7
Hopefully that is correct ... Thank you again
Yes, that's about it. Just to clarify, whether the BBC Sounds plugin continues to be allowed access to the BBC Sounds API is not linked at all to the Shoutcast switch off. So the BBC Sounds plugin should continue to work for the forseeable future, unless the BBC decide to specifically put in place something that denies it access. As the plugin complies with their distribution policy and the plugin requires user sign-in, so they get everything they require, I doubt they will put in the effort to specifically deny it access. Although, you never know.

You can watch as much live sport as you want, just not on TV!

Quite easy to legally stop paying the licence fee by going here and following the instructions: https://www.defundbbc.uk/

We did it three years ago and the only communication we get is every two years from TV Licencing is to confirm we still do not watch live TV. All very polite and no hassle as long as you follow the correct procedure. As others have said you can watch all catch up services except iPlayer and no live TV from anywhere in the world which shows how ludicrous a law created in 1923 is today!

I have never seen politics here before ever!

Probably best if this off topic digression is ceased before things get heated. That sort of thing is reserved for the Audiophile section.

which is odd because they are as left leaning as a corporation as its possible to get
