Has not changed for radio - no licence needed.
However, if you do declare that you do not have a licence and they decide to come and check and you let them in and they find capable equipment connected up then arguing might be expensive.

having equipment capable is no longer an issue. The only issue is whether you watch live TV in any form or use Iplayer for catch-up. Do neither, no license needed and nothing they can do

Ah - I guess that changed because everyone with an internet connection is deemed able to watch.

How do you prove whether you don't watch live TV? I wonder how many watched World Cup matches without a TV licence 🤣

I use a Win HauppaugeTV-dualHD usb dongle as use to watch and record tv plus for radio and as Paul Webster said the Pi TV Hat is a good option just as shame its only a single tuner

One thing i was thinking of doing which i haven't tested yet but should work (fingers crossed) is map the SD card being used by the Pi running TVheadend and map it into the Pi running my LMS so if you record any radio shows they show up in LMS to play

You are under no obligation to prove anything.

                Law changed a while ago.

                I understand that.
I don't watch any BBC programming, and after the smug Lineker debacle, I am doubly happy that I cancelled it.

A better reason to cancel your licence payments is the fact that the BBC is currently run by a bunch of Tory placemen, one of whom donated 400000 pounds to the Conservative party.

I see it more as a steaming bucket of left wing idiots.

I don't miss it one bit.

which is odd because they are as left leaning as a corporation as its possible to get

I have never seen politics here before ever!

Probably best if this off topic digression is ceased before things get heated. That sort of thing is reserved for the Audiophile section.
