    Now Playing Menu Item

I may be imaging things, but I think there used to be a menu item on the SBT for Now Playing. I know I can hit it on the remote. Or tap the upper right hand corner. But I thought there had been an entry for it. I have checked the Home menu's Restore Hidden Menu Items (or something worded close to that) and there are no menu items hidden. And before I reluctantly do a restore to default, I thought I'd check to see if there never was a Now Playing menu item.

    Thanks.

On the Touch that item has been replaced with the top right button. What’s the reason you would like to have the menu item instead?

Only because I was pretty certain that I had the menu item at one point and I couldn't find it. From searching the forum yesterday (before posting this) I discovered that there is a Now Playing button in the upper right as you mentioned. But I didn't know that it has -replaced- the menu item. So I'm all set now.

      Thanks for the reply.

The Touch manual from 2010 says the Now Playing icon is in the top right corner 😀

I've got a Now Playing menu item on my SB Touch, try just a reboot of the Touch, seem to remember that has sorted a few menu anomalies for me in the past.

Mine is on Community Firmware 8.0.1-r16862

Where does it appear? Mine doesn't have it.

I don't see a Now Playing menu item on my Touch.

But you don't really need one, if using the Touch screen there's the notes icon top right, or if using the IR remote there's the same Now Playing notes icon on a button.

Curiosity made me look a bit deeper...

If you select the Small Text Skin, then you get the "Music Note" symbol for now playing in the top right corner.
If you select the Large Text Skin, then you get a Now Playing at the top of the main menu above My Music

                Settings/Screen/Select Skin/Touch Skin >

My Touch is the other side of the room, so distance and my poor eyesight means I use the Large Text Skin.

Thinking about it now, it was the occasional unwanted change to Small Text Skin that I've seen that was fixed by a reboot of the Touch which would come back up with my usual settings.

Thanks everyone. I've got it sorted out now.

As KeBul points out, the skin needs to be changed but not to Settings/Screen/Select Skin/Touch Skin. It's needs to be Remote Skin > Large Text. -Then- the Now Playing menu item appears at the top of the home menu. But wow, that is really a LARGE font. I suppose at some point many years ago that's how I had it set up. But as mberger points out, Now Playing has an icon at the top right of the screen. -AND- the remote has a Now Playing button. So having the menu item is not necessary for me any longer.

It's needs to be Remote Skin > Large Text.
It's actually both - you can set a Touch Skin size and a Remote Skin size - I have them both set to large - there are times when I'm briefly close to the player so use the touch screen - if Touch Skin is set to "Small Text" and I use the touch screen then the now playing screen has reduced font sizes, smaller album art and player controls at the bottom - for me, making the screen details unreadable from the far side of the room where i usually sit.

Again, more realisation... at some stage they must have been set "Touch Skin - Small, Remote Skin - Large" and explains how I would occasionally end up with smaller text not know why or how.

Another one of the many times I'm amazed at just how configurable and complex the Squeeze System is.
