    Loose Power Jack?

The power jack on my SBR is loose and interrupts the power to the radio when it is moved. I searched the forum database and found one user who had the same issue but there was no conclusion that resoldering the jack fixed the problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it a simple matter of taking apart the radio and resoldering the power jack?

Really a Radio or is it a Boom? in the Radio the power jack is a separate piece that connects to the main PCB via a short wire pair. These connectors can be purchased separately, you just need to reattach the wires and take care of the polarity.

Joemuck2009: It is a Squeezebox radio. It probably needs the connecting wires to be resoldered, if not the jack replaced as well. I have seen elsewhere on the forums how to take the radio apart so that hopefully won't be difficult. Thanks for your reply! Dave

Well here's a video of somebody opening theirs. Actually he is not doing it quite right until 05:15. The key to removing the shiny front panel, after removing the two Torx screws that hold it, is moving it entirely to the left with some gentle force, and then it can be pulled out. Don't spudger around the front panel like he does until that point, it won't do any good.

one thing to try is to spray some deoxit or similar in the jack, and on/in the plug, insert, rotate, pull out, repeat. Sometimes intermittent is just residue inhibiting the contact. Of course you can physically clean and inspect the outer sleeve of the plug., and maybe the inner as well.
