Off to the land of misfit toys.

Tried wlanpoke, tried community firmware, stock firmware, community firmware again. No use. Can't stay connected for more than five minutes sitting on top of the wifi access point. I won't be adding a wifi dongle to make a wireless music player work.

Power line adapter(s) ?

Could fit some scenarios.

What brand and model is your wifi router? Have you tried to see if you can disable the Wifi6 standard on the router?

I don't have wifi 6. A neighbor might. Nothing I can do about that.
