Hi, I've bought a SB radio from eBay but I can't get it to connect to my server (rPi3 running LMS 8.2.0 - 1627922070). I've entered my squeezebox network credentials and I assume its connected to this although frankly it's not clear. If I go to 'My Music' on the radio, enter my username and password, I get the '<server name> needs to be updated to a newer version ...' message. After I've installed 'Patch Installer', it doesn't appear in Settings > Advanced, so I can't go ahead to install the version comparison fix.
I've tried to install an earlier version of LMS on my Mac and on another raspberry pi, but currently I can't get them running. Any help gratefully received, thank you!

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps here:

Interestingly the SBR connects to the internet and downloads an update ie the same firmware version that is already installed but having restarted it will not have changed its behaviour. I am now trying to reset it to factory settingsRaspberry Pi 4 Model B 2GB with LMS 8.2.0 -- Plugins: Material Skin, MAI, Podcasts, Musik - folge mir, Ratings Light, Exclude Folders -- RPI 2 with a Hifiberry DAC+ running PCP -- 2x UE Smartradios running Firmware 8.0 sth -- 2xWin10 PCs with Squeezelite-X -- DSM 7.1 (Synology Disk Station 115) has my music

Hello
I'm trying to update the SBR firmware on four radios. Will do this one at a time, starting with the least-used unit. Upon boot, this one reads 'beta hardware. Some features may not work. Current fw on all units is 7.73, successfully connecting to LMS 8.2 on a Pi3 running Max2play 2.56(latest version).
I've followed ralphy's instructions to the letter, yet the SBRs do not display an option for firmware 8.x, only the current version. Radio is connected to LMS, not mysqeezebox. I've allowed 24hr to elapse for firmware download.
Restoring SBR to factory was successful. Maybe the beta hardware won't allow any further update. I'll try on one of the three 'downgraded' UE radios.
Puzzled. Everything works, so am inclined to follow the 'ain't broke, don't fix' wisdom.
dkFour SBR(one 'original' and three 'improved' UEs)
Boom with Yamaha sub
One SB2 in the workshop
Vintage Crosley cabinet housing PiCore, amp and speakers. Great 1940s vibe!
Rpi 3 runs LMS; music stored on NAS
