Will Spotify work on my squeezebox.com on an SB3?

I have 4 Squeezebox Classics and I understand there are workarounds to get Spotify to work via LMS. I'd like to know if it's possible to get the service working through mysqueezebox.com. I accessed my account via my computer, and got a message that I can only enable Spotify by signing up for a Premium account, but I'm not really interested in getting one if it turns out I can't run it through mysqueezebox.com.

    Thanks for any info!

No, mysb.com will only allow streaming to SB Radio and SB Touch.

No you can't . You must use LMS and the third party plugin . I don't know exactly why but it's some limitations in the old hardware on what code could possibly be implemented and executed on them to fullfill spotify's encryption demands or something like that .
The SB3 CPU/memory is to weak to upgrade for this purpose or else it would have been done years ago .

So Radio and Touch are the only supported players .

However running a small server somewhere is not as intrusive as you think ... I do that my boom would not have spotify otherwise .

So if I have LMS and the Spotify plug-in, not running through mysqueezebox.com, will I still be able to control it with SqueezeCommander or some other Android app? Will it include my Spotify playlists and "my music"?

(I do have the premium service, because I listen on my phone at work with external speakers. At home I can also listen on my Radio, even though the options are very limited, and can't listen at all on my Boom or Duet.)

"yes" it's slightly different than the official app it has something that people prefer over the official app playlists are there but not "my music" and it does not play different streams on different players as the official one does .

I don’t actually know about the andriod apps , but i suspect some of them works fine with Triode's spotify app . It does on iOS

But just install it and try if you have a local server running , they can coexist and it cost nothing to try . So just do it then you know .
Triode's app gets an orange icon in most interfaces so that you can tell it from the official green icon .

I'd never worked with plug-ins before, but that was pretty straightforward. Yes, it turns out the Boom on LMS does have the same functions as the Radio on MSB, via the control panel or SqueezeCommander. It's too bad it doesn't have the "My Music" that I've built up, but it's better than not even having Spotify. And I don't need to have more than one Spotify stream running.

I guess I'll need to charge up the Controller and change the Duet over to LMS. I don't use it as often, but I could have the computer running when I really needed it. The Boom is different - I use it when I'm going to bed, waking up, and sometimes in the middle of the night. With the storms we get in this area, I can't leave the computer running 24/7. I guess I can now start looking into a simple PI-type server that wouldn't be as costly to replace or run. And then I'll be more prepared for the day that the MSB plug finally gets pulled.

            Thanks for your advice!

Yea I have a lot music ripped as flac files so it makes sense for me to run my own server anyway . It's a HP microserver .
