I am dreading the day MySB.com shuts down as I use it 99% of the times still (1% LMS), and is works great for me (Deezer and BBC Radio almost exclusively).

The continuing use of mysqueezebox.com helps demonstrate to Logitech that there is still an active community of users ... which, for now at least, has meant that they have continued to fund its operation (including this forum and some support activities).
Michael Herger is a Logitech employee and is somehow able to find time (his own time) to work on LMS stuff.

You are able to see what it is like without mysqueezebox.com by telling your LMS not to use it.

However, if lots(*) of people chose not to use it then it will, presumably, go away for everyone else.

I wonder if there's a way of knowing / estimating how many SB-world users there still are? Or how many active devices? Not easy for LMS users as - afaik - LMS doesn't talk to any Logitech servers. But the redoubtable Michael Herger might be able to say how many active accounts / devices there regularly are on MySB.com?

Yep, not easy. I have to tell management whenever they ask. LMS users
are hard to count. That's why I appreciate it when people don't disable
MySB integration. Because usage is moving away from the pure MySB model
to running LMS on something like a Pi, even if only dealing with music
services and radio stations.

It does, unless you've disabled all integration. Eg. when checking for
updates, or when interacting with MySB based music services (Deezer,
Pandora, TIDAL). But trying to map those requests to user identities and
players is no precise science...

As outlined above I don't have precise numbers, but good guesstimations.
But then my company doesn't like to share such numbers.

No idea really, but I'm guessing many more. Total number of regular SB "accounts" (ie, a household, maybe multiple devices, maybe just LMS, mabe just MySB, maybe both ....) - 1.75 million.
