      Other options include persistent mode and Cache Streams on Disk (which sounds very promising to me actually)

      Edit: Tried this setting. Noticed by monitoring bandwidth that it seemed to grab an entire long song, gonna listen and see if it skips, I think this may be the magic setting, fingers crossed!

        Rather than edit my last post again, let me say THANK YOU to mherger for your pointing me to this menu option (and for all of your amazing help on this forum), I see that exactly as I had hoped I can ask the software to cache an entire streaming file to disk, which makes my problem go away completely.
