Attention TIDAL users - changes ahead!

    So I just went through the process of reauthenticating and it worked.

    However, when I "rescan my online music library" it only grabs 50 artists and 50 albums! Repeated scans result in the same. When I browse my Tidal library through the LMS web interface (as opposed to the Tidal website) indeed it only shows 50 artists, and 50 albums under My Favorites... and they are in alphabetical order. I have hundreds of favorite albums (and this is still the case on the Tidal website) but LMS is only showing 50 and in the case of favorite albums it ends at an album beginning with A... same goes for artists, although in this case I made it to H!

    So somewhere there is an arbitrary(?) 50 item maximum for favorites. And at the bottom of the page when I click on Home > TIDAL > My Favorites > Albums it says "Items 1 to 49 of 49".

      Ok, you're the second user to report this. Will look into this once the
      basic auth issues are resolved. Thanks for your understanding!

          Would you have an option to select the account for your players either
          in the TIDAL settings on mysqueezebox.com, or in the player menu? Would

          com? This would allow me to see what might be wrong with your account.

          It shouldn't. We use the token we get back from TIDAL now, nothing else.

            I have the same issue, and I suspect everyone will have for a couple of days. However, how do you get LMS to scan Tidal? If I ask LMS to scan online library it doesn't find Tidal, and I don't really know what it is scanning.

              Hi Michael,

              Getting closer - now I got transferred to the Tidal login, inserted credentials, got accepted - and 'came back' to mysb with no errors. After a short while got the App to appear in the Web UI but now and there I get a "TIDAL login failed. Please check your TIDAL credentials on mysqueezebox.com." Tried a few restarts of LMS, deactivated and reactivated Tidal plugin to no avail... Tried one more time - and now the App in LMS is gone...

                Thank you Michael for all you do!

                I tried a "clear library and rescan everything" just to make sure and still hit the 50 album/song Tidal limit, so it seems to definitely be a server side thing with Tidal. At first I thought, wow, this new authentication makes browsing Tidal on LMS so much faster... until I realized most of my stuff wasn't there haha...

                      Could you please PM me your mysb user name (email)? I'd like to look at
                      your configuration to see what's going on there.

                      And could you please enable logging for network.squeezenetwork
                      (Settings/Advanced/Logging in LMS), then navigate to TIDAL from the main
                      menu one more time? When done, please send me a copy of the
                      server.log.zip file

                        I logged out and in again at mysqueezebox.com

                        I can browse through all my artists, albums, playlists. But I can't play anything anymore. Playing just doesn't start.
                        I can't see much in the server log either. I am using raspberry pi's (hifiberry) with squeezelite as players.

                        Using debian package:

                        ii logitechmediaserver 8.0.0~1589867264 all Streaming Audio Server

                        on another raspberry pi as lms.

                        I have increased the logging of the tidal plugin to 'debug' and seeing a lot of:

                          This was bound to happen one day.

                          I was able to re-authenticate alright, and I, too, have the 50 artists problem, but I have confidence that it will be fixed.

                          The bad thing is the dropped support for MP3. I just checked my players, and it seems that the Boom does not play the AAC, either, so currently, only the Radio and the Touch work. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my impression is that even if I throw twice as much money at Tidal, only a few tracks will be available on the Booms and the Transporter, because most tracks on Tidal are only available in a lossy format. My LMS is an old Windows Home Server with spinning HDDs, so to leave it running 24/7 is not an option. I even doubt that it will be able to transcode the streams in real time.

                          What are my options? I will need to replace the WHS anyway because of SMB 2/3 support. I was thinking about a Synology station or something similar. Is running a NAS 24/7 the way to go, or should I replace mysqueezebox.com with a Raspberry Pi? Are there hardware restrictions for transcoding the AAC streams?

                          Any ideas are appreciated.

                                This topic was covered in this thread early on. Philippe provided a
                                patch for LMS8 which allows to transcode AAC to be playable on these
                                players.

                                I'm strongly recommending a Pi, even if you decide to get a good NAS as
                                storage. See "my story":
