How do I get a second-hand player deregistered from mysqueezebox.com in 2017?

I've seen a lot of posts discussing this problem from back in 2010, but nothing recently.

I have just bought a second-hand original Slim Devices-vintage Transporter from ebay and it is still registered to an old mysqueezebox.com account. I performed a factory reset but, as expected, this didn't degister it. The guy I bought it from isn't responding to emails so is there a way of getting it deregistered without him having to do it himself?

If whoever can do this is reading this post, the MAC address of the player is 00:04:20:...

I have the same problem. I just bought a second(third) hand Transporter from a guy and he wasn't even aware of the Transporter being registered on the fellow he bought the Transporter from. The registered person doesn't reply on emails, and I have no other contact information.

You can log in mysbc (with the email address given in the classic as user name) and delete that classic from your account.

How to deregister before selling?

I am about to sell my Transporter and wish to deregister from mysqueezebox. Other than this and removing my wifi name and password is there anything else I should do before I package my Transporter up? I imagine I can go to mysqueezebox to deregister, and use the control panel to do a reset on everything else? Thanks, Neil.

correct. Deregister from mysqueezebox.com (delete from your account). Then you can do a factory reset on the transporter and that should remove all your wifi login info, etc.
