Hi!

I'm confused somewhat. Running LMS 7.9 on Windows with Squeezelite on a RasPi (my SB3 died a couple of weeks ago after 8 years :-( ).

Triode's Spotify plug in works. I have it in the Radio menu. In MySB.com I have the Spotify plugin connected to my account. The Squeezelite box is registered with the MySB.com account although I can't actually figure out how to connect it there to be remote controlled. LMS is picking up the MySB BBC plugin though, so that part seems to work.

The official Spotify plug in does not appear in My Apps or anywhere else neither in the LMS web interface nor in iPeng. Do I need to have an SB Touch to have the menu item appear? Or am I setting something up incorrectly? I understood that this should work even if I have a Squeezelite-based device?

Make sure you go into settings for triode Spotify and untick the "show under Myapps". Then triode Spotify will show up under radio menu and Logitech Spotify will show up under Myapps.

Yes, Triode's plugin has "show under my apps" disabled and it already is in Radio. My Apps contains no Spotify instances at all.

And you still have the official plugin installed? Not only the app
enabled on mysb.com, but the plugin running in LMS.

Ah yes. That would be one of those "is your computer plugged in" support issues. Sorry! It works beautifully now.

Hi,

I'm wondering whether the Spotify API supports saving (following) tracks/albums/artists to the user's library. It would be great if I could somehow save a track I like, which I came across in some random search through LMS, so I can have access to it from other Spotify players.

iPeng seems to have some sort of star/love buttons displayed on the track screen, which don't seem to be related to the LMS menu structure, so I am not sure how they work...

can you now synchronize Spotify streams between muliple players?

Last time I tried, which was a couple of years ago, this rarely worked and I therefore went with Wimp instead. Now I am having issues with Wimp/Tidal in mySB.com and I am therefore considering moving to Spotify or Deezer.

Any experience appreciated.

Now it works, was it my firewall settings?

Have just started using Spotify Premium and had trouble streaming to Classic and Boom (Radios were fine).
Could browse music (using both triode and official plugin) but had no sound, just jumping to the next number in the playlist.

I tried updating my LMS from 7.7.3 to 7.7.5, didn't help.

Finally uninstalled LMS 7.7.5 and did a clean install of LMS 7.9.

In the process of enabeling the Spotify plugins and restarting LMS, my Windows firewall prompted me to allow access - so I wonder if that was the problem in the first place.

Anyway, to those having trouble with Spotify and Classic/Boom, try a clean install.

Agreed. I didn't implement this yet, as I'm on a tight timely budget.
And I wanted to let things settle with Spotify and Tidal changes before
I add any more features. It's on my ever growing todo list.

I have read all pages and can't find anything on this. But it seems the album and track menu items are always empty using the official plugin. Is this known?

Spotify app keeps disappearing from my SB Touch and SB Radio. Even though both go and claim it's installed...

I have gone and re-installed from scratch to no avail. I think it may be some incompatibility between the 2 spotify plug-ins...

and now the app is there but it doesn't play music, stops after 2 seconds...

Have you un-ticked the "Show in My Apps" box on the settings page for the Triode Plug-in?

This will move it to under Radio, and leave the official Green spotify under My Apps.

sometimes all you have to do is wait.

when i noticed it yesterday, i was a tad irritated so walked away from it.

lo and behold today... everything is working and back to normal :-)

i am still not entirely clear if i need *both* the official and 3rd party Spotify plug in, or just one of the two...

On new models as touch and radio you'll need only the official Plugin. On older models you'll need Triodes plugin but then you can also use the new one. If you have both, put Triodes in Radio.
