I didnāt post much in this section before as unless you were sitting in front of a PC posting pictures was really difficult. Tapatalk would allow it sometimes but it was clunky.
Most of my serious evening listening is done with no PC anywhere near me but like most I control LMS from my phone while I listen in my Living Room often on headphones while SWMBO watches TV.
Iāve always posted my listening habits elsewhere though and now the forum software allows Iām going to post here in a serious way.
One of the things I like to see when others post is a bit of a narrative about the album or artist in question. Especially if they are little known. So here goes.
⪠Playing Reason To Change by Jess Roden from Jess Roden (Vinyl) (1974) (Local ⢠923kbps VBR 16Bits 44.1kHz FLC)
Jess Roden is one of the UKs finest vocalists but heās never had the mass appeal he deserved. At the height of his career (mid 70s) he was lauded by his peers and his albums got generally great reviews but no sales.
I was lucky enough to see him live in the early 70s and as a result this is one of my favourite albums of all time. Half of the album was recorded in New Orleans with Allen Toussaint so youāll gather it is funky blue eyed soul. Remarkably the other half that was recorded in London is arguably funkier. Anyway if youāve never heard of Jess Roden make amends and take a listen.

I bought this LP decades ago when I saw it going cheap with a "Prime Cuts" sticker on the cover. I probably played it once and decided it wasn't really my thing. I pulled it out of the record case and gave it another chance. It is now digitised and has gone up in my estimation š

I too have a copy that I bought in 79 and I have also redigitised it. At the time I didnāt know it had been recorded digitally. I probably didnāt know until I had recorded it to FLAC and read up on it.Jim
