American Flowers by Birds of Chicago
Solid melodic superbly performed old-fashioned folk music wih a message, wouldn't be out of place in the folk world of the 60s. This performance (YouTube, below) seems to be the actual performance recorded for the EP. Ace guitarist/producer Steve Dawson and wonderful vocalist/instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens supporting.

I'm listening to A Journey by Ché-SHIZU. It's on the Los Angeles based label Black Editions who are re-releasing albums from the Japanese label PSF. So far, this has included LPs from High Rise, Keiji Haino and the Tokyo Flashback compilation. Interesting stuff.
